From Fraser Island, we head further up on the coast and visit Maryborough, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg. Also, we decide take a long drive to Centra Highlands of Queensland where we check out huge dams, giant paintings and the famous gemfields. Fancy to do some fossicking? Sapphire Fossicking QLD - Finding Gemstones in Queensland was fun for the Whole Family!
Who knew finding gemstones in Queensland would be a whole heap of fun? I mean, what kid doesn't like a treasure hunt? What adult doesn't secretly like the idea of stumbling over their very own gemstone? Fossicking for gems in the outback towns of Sapphire and Rubyvale in Queensland turned out to be a great way to spent a few days of the school holidays.

The ship stuck fast and was badly damaged, desperate measures being needed to prevent it foundering until it was refloated the next day. Cook recorded ...the north point [was named] Cape Tribulation because here begun all our troubles

One of our very favourite Caravan Parks in Australia.
The Island View Caravan Park at Kinka Beach near Yeppoon in Qld is owned by wonderful people who have created a fantastic park of high quality, great fun and numerous features.
Located opposite the beach, it has 2 pools, massive entertainment areas and fantastic bathroom amenities.
The park is pet friendly.
We had excellent Telstra & Vodafone coverage and there is Wifi available to purchase.
Check out the Causeway down the road for some great fishing.
Cost to stay is $38.50 per night for 2 adults on a powered site.
Our stay was 5th - 9th June 2018
