Båstad is a locality and the seat of Båstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden, with approximately 5,000 permanent residents. It is however one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts. The population is presumably more than twice as large between April and September, and even larger during July. It's municipality follows a similar pattern. Some 15,000 permanent residents but more than 30,000 during July. Some villages within the municipality almost empty during the winter, but have more than a 2,000 summer guests during July. 1. Norrviken Bastad Bastad
Norrviken Gardens is a garden, located about 3 kilometers northwest of Båstad, Skåne County, Sweden. It was founded by Rudolf Abelin in the early 1900s. The garden was chosen as the most beautiful park in Sweden and the second most beautiful in Europe in 2006. Due to financial issues the park has begun to fall into decline. Different interest groups are doing efforts to come up with new ways to fund the park, but disagreements between the groups have hampered the development of the park. One major problem is the location which decreases the use of the park as a venue for commercial interests.

2. Hovs Hallar Bastad
Hov Church is located in the village Hov, Båstad, Scania, Sweden and is one church out of three used by the parish of Västra Karup. The current church was built in 1837–1839 after drawings by architect Samuel Enander. It's the third church at the same location. The first church was built during the 11th or 12th century. This was enlarged or rebuilt during the 16th century. Its font is carved in stone and is an artifact from the first church. It's dated to the 13th century. A plate of hamrade brass, was made for the font in Nuremberg, Germany in the 16th century. In the church does also Triumph-Crucifix from the 12th century hang, while the current altarpiece, painted by Fritiof Swensson from Gothenburg, was put up in 1922. Gekås Ullared AB is a Swedish superstore in Ullared, Sweden, founded in 1963 by Göran Karlsson as Ge-kås Manufaktur. It had an annual turnover of SEK 4.2 B in 2010, with a total store area of over 30,000 m2 in addition to a 50,000 m2 storage area just a few hundred yards away. Sofiero Palace or just Sofiero in Helsingborg Municipality, Scania was one of the Swedish royal family's country mansions, located 5 kilometres north of Helsingborg. It was originally a Scanian farm called Skabelycke, bought in 1864 by Crown Prince Oscar of Sweden and his wife Sophia of Nassau. The first one-story palace was completed in 1865. It was expanded to its current size between 1874 and 1876, after crown prince Oscar had been crowned king Oscar II of Sweden and Norway.

8. Skanes Djurpark Hoor
Skånes Djurpark is a Swedish zoological park located in Höör Municipality, Skåne County. It specializes in animals of the Nordic fauna, although orphaned animals from elsewhere in the world are sometimes temporarily housed there until a new home can be found for them. The zoo has about 900 animals, representing almost 100 species. These animals are most often kept in large enclosures with natural environments. Some of the domestic animals displayed include: Skånegås , Gute sheep, Fjäll cattle, and Jämtlandsget .

Ven is a small Swedish island in the Øresund strait, between Scania and Zealand . It is part of Landskrona Municipality, Skåne County. The island has 371 inhabitants and an area of 7.5 km2 . During the 1930s, the population was at its peak, with approximately 1,300 inhabitants. There are four villages on the island: Bäckviken, Tuna By, Norreborg and Kyrkbacken.

Helsingborg: The Real Sweden

In this video we hit the highlights of South Sweden's Skåne, from Helsingborg's city center, with its beautiful North Harbor and Sweden's oldest pedestrian shopping street; to the open-air museum Fredriksdal, larger than Stockholm's Skansen; to the gardens (named Europe's most beautiful) and palace Sofiero; and on to Mölle, the birthplace of Swedish sin.

At Mölle, we stop for a round of golf at nature's playground, Kullaberg, which has been described as a compact New Zealand and is also noted for hiking and biking trails, as well as porpoise safaris.

We leave the Kulla peninsula to visit the home of one of the world's greatest sopranists, Birgit Nilsson, and a museum dedicated to her, before continuing on to beautiful Båstad, Sweden's riviera and home to the Swedish Open Tennis Tournament.

We conclude our visit at one of Northern Europe's most important weaveries, founded by seamstress Märta Måås Fjätterström, before heading back to Helsingborg.

Helsingborg is situated only one hour from Copenhagen and directly across from Elsinore (home to Hamlet's Castle) at the narrowest part of the sound between Denmark and Sweden.

Cruise passengers disembarking for the day in Helsingborg have remarked more than once that now they were seeing The Real Sweden.
