10 Things To Do In Luxembourg City | Top Attractions Travel Guide Travel Video Transcript:
Well, welcome to Luxembourg! The only Grand Duchy in the world. Over the next few days we're going to be exploring the capital of Luxembourg City and this is going to be a little city guide to show you some of the highlights.
Located smack dab in between Germany, France, and Belgium, the little Grand Duchy of Luxembourg can be easy to miss if you're not looking carefully, however, we're of the opinion that this is a beautiful destination that you'll definitely want to make time for. From picturesque neighbourhoods with cream coloured walls, to dazzling views of blue rooftops in the Old Town below, Luxembourg City is a charming destination that you'll want to add to your European itinerary.
So this hear is the Corniche and it is a pedestrian promenade which has been called the most beautiful balcony in all of Europe because it gets some spectacular views of the old town.
So we are now entering the Bock Casemates and apparently this was the old fortification of Luxemborg and it was known as the Gibraltar of the north.
This was once one of the most envied fortresses in all of Europe.
Right now we're visiting the Three Towers which are remnants of an old fortress.
We've been walking around a neighborhood called the Grund which is directly below the city center. And it is really picturesque and without tourists.
So behind me we have Saint Michael's church which is the oldest church in Luxembourg. The first church to be built on this spot dates back to the year 987, however, the church was destroyed, rebuilt, and renovated many times over the centuries.
The Palace houses the Grand Duke's office and during the summer months.
There is no shortage of museums in Luxembourg City, so we took some time to visit the National Museum of Art and History.
We are now looking at the Passerelle which is Luxembourg's very own viaduct.
So we are now standing in William Square which is a really popular spot on Sundays and Wednesdays because local vendors setup shop and they sell all kinds of things from fresh produce, to flowers, street snacks.
So final thoughts of Luxembourg. Alright, to wrap things up here it was a really cool city. It is the type of city that you can explore in just one or two days. A weekend type of destination because a lot of the attractions are nearby one another. And we just found it a very easy city to get around in on foot.
So as a little travel tip if you're planning on being in the city for a few days we really recommend the Luxembourg Card. This is what we used while we were here and it is really good for public transportation across the city. Across the country actually and you also get access to seventy different galleries, museums, historic attractions and it is not that expensive. I mean it depends on whether you get a family or an individual card but we really recommend it because we made a lot of use of it.

1. Don't Feed the Seagulls!
When the gull-feeding tourist leaves, the Seattelites are left behind to be harassed and their cars pooped on.
They see them as rats with wings.
2. Don't Wear Safari Gear.
Apparently Seattelites are sick of seeing middle-aged tourists wearing floppy, khaki sun hats and act like sunlight is a toxin? Seinfeld put it best when he said; Today was a Classic Seattle day. It didn't rain. It didn't NOT rain. It's Green Lake, it's not the Congo.
3. Don’t pay to go up the Space Needle.
The Space Needle is for suckers. With an addmission fee of $14, any true Seattleite knows that the Smith Tower - a local best-kept secret — costs half as much and has an equally amazing view of downtown Seattle.
And you also cut out most of the other tourists saying ooh I can see Canada! (which you can't)
4. Don't try and find the view from Frasier's Apartment!

5. Don’t be seduced by a tossed fish.
The Pike Place Fish Guys have made a big business of throwing fish and it looks fun.
But Pike place can be totally crowded on the weekends.
6. Don't go to Starbucks
There are over a thousand coffee shops in Seattle, With a coffee shop around every corner, an Americano is always at your fingers — but Cafe Allegro, Seattle’s first coffee shop, has one of the best. Also try Cafe Lladro, Milstead, and Stumptown.
7. Don't Skip Brunch
Check out Portage Bay Cafe - a Seattleite brunch haven, known for its organic ingredients and delicious American fare.
8. Don't forget to wear socks!
In Spain and many other places in Europe wearing socks with your sandals is a total tourist move. But in Seattle it's more like the norm.
9. Don't Avoid ice cream.
Seattle ice cream makers offer up all kinds of exotic flavors for foodies: lavender, beet, bacon, squid ink, mashed potato... Check out Molly Moon’s and Procopio Gelateria for some crazy flavours!
10. Don’t forget to research your beaches.
There are nude beaches, gay beaches, kid beaches, illegal dog beaches. The beach at Denny-Blaine, for example, is a lesbian-hipster hangout once nicknamed Dykiki.
11. Don't forget a hot dog!
Yes, a hot dog. Every New Yorker knows a pizza slice is the best way to end a night on the town. But every Seattleite knows a night isn’t complete without a stop by the local hotdog cart. For a true Seattle experience, make sure to pack on the cream cheese.

Hemos viajado hasta Alemania, al corazón de Europa, concretamente a su capital Berlín, una ciudad que fascina a todo el mundo. Toca recordar que hace setenta años Berlín fue destrozada durante los bombardeos de la segunda guerra mundial por lo que apenas queda patrimonio histórico original. La mayoría edificios como la catedral alemana tuvieron que ser totalmente reconstruidos. Una de las pocas edificaciones que se mantuvieron en pie fu la Iglesia Kaiser Biljem WilhJelm declarada monumento protegido que se conserva en estado de ruina como un memorial.
Para ver Berlín se necesitan muchos días. Esto es enorme y hay muchas cosas. Así que la mejor opción es lo que voy a hacer yo. Un tour en bicicleta por la ciudad. Las bicicletas en Berlín son como la arena en la playa, forman parte del paisaje. En esta ciudad moverse en bici es lo más habitual. No importa que sea invierno y haga frío aquí la gente prefiere este medio de transporte limpio. Para fomentar su uso, Berlín cuenta con más de 620 kilómetros de vías para ciclistas y si un día vas en bici y te cansas, ¡no hay problema!. Puedes meter la bici en el metro.
La primera parada de este tour en bici me lleva al edifico del Reichstag. Construido en el siglo 19 en estilo neoclásico es actualmente la sede del parlamento alemán donde destaca esa bella cúpula de cristal de la que ahora no os voy a hablar porque al final del día entraremos a verla. Junto al Reichstag se encuentra otro gran símbolo de la ciudad: La Puerta de Brandeburgo. La puerta fue construida en el siglo 18 en estilo Neoclásico inspirándose en el Acrópolis de Atenas y es una de las piezas más cotizadas de los cazadores de selfies.
Sigo mi paseo en bici para enseñaros dos de mis zonas favoritas situadas en el barrio judío. El primer lugar al que me dirijo es el distrito de Hackesche Höfe. Estos bellísimos patios de estilo Art Nouveau datan de principios del siglo 20 y están declarados monumentos histórico nacional. Hoy en día son una encantadora zona llena de tiendas, cafés y teatros Junto a estos patios tenemos la Haus Schwarzenberg toda un explosión del mejor Street Art. Este callejón no son sólo muros de arte urbano, es un espacio cultural donde donde podemos encontrar numerosos estudios de arte, un cine independiente, un bar y tres museos dedicados a diferentes personalidades de la comunidad judía como Anna-Frank u Otto Weidt, un empresario alemán que protegió escondió a numerosas familias judías en sus fábricas.
Pero sin duda alguna el gran tributo a los judíos asesinado en Europa es este monumento, una obra de 19.000 metros cuadrados formando por losas de hormigón, cuya carga emocional es tan intensa que sobran las palabras. Vamos a visitar otro escenario vinculado a los horrores de la II Guerra Mundial, la BebelPlatz. En esta plaza el 10 de mayo de 1933 se produjo la quema de libros de autores contrarios a la ideología nazi. Para no olvidar este suceso se ha levantado este monumento que representa una sala vacía con estanterías para acoger 20.000 libros, exactamente los libros que fueron quemados aquella noche.
Se me acaba el día y quiero terminarlo conociendo lo mejor de los tiempos actuales, por eso regreso al edificio del Reichstag para visitar la cúpula. Cuando en 1990 se produjo la reunificación Alemana hubo que rehabilitar el edificio para que fuera la sede del Parlamento. La gran aportación de esta reforma fue esta cúpula de vidrio diseñada por el arquitecto Norman Foster que representa la Alemania unida.

Nantes Tourism invited the participants of the TBU to an evening event in the Courtyard of the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany. The glamorous environment was a good place to make the first contacts. Local delicacies from Brittany were offered at market stalls. Oysters, home-made cheese variations, crepes, galettes and freshly baked biscuits were served, accompanied by very good local wines and cider.
Stéphane Junique, the culture commissioner of the city of Nantes, welcomed the participants on behalf of the mayor and opened the event with interesting information about the castle and the city of Nantes. The translation was made by Xavier Theret, Head of International Relations and Promotion of Nantes Tourisme, a linguistic genius who speaks seven languages fluently; and of course Oliver Gradwell the Managing Director of the TBU.
The formation La bagad de Nantes welcomed the participants with Breton music. The Gipsy Jazz ensemble Manouche Jean-Michel LEDUC, provided the musical background of the evening
At the lively conversations in the castle you could recognize that it was a very successful and interesting evening for all of us which we keep in good memory.
At a late hour we visited the botanic garden of Nantes. It was illuminated in marvelous colors thus offering a special atmosphere.

Ziel dieses Events in diesem glamorösen Ambiente war die Kontakte der Teilnehmer der TBU zu fördern und ihnen die kulinarischen Spezialitäten der Bretagne, speziell von Nantes nahe zu bringen. Neben Austern und vielen Sorten von Käse wurden Crepe Variationen und Plätzchen serviert. Dazu natürlich herrlichen Wein.
Stéphane Junique, der Kulturbeauftragte der Stadt Nantes begrüßte die Teilnehmer im Namen des Bürgermeisters und eröffnete die Veranstaltung mit interessanten Informationen über das Schloss und die Stadt Nantes. Die Übersetzung erfolgte durch Xavier Theret, Head of International Promotion and Relations von Nantes Tourisme, ein Sprachgenie, der 7 Sprachen fließend spricht. Mit dabei war Oliver Gradwell, der Managing Director der TBU.
Die Formation La Bagad de Nantes empfing die Teilnehmer mit bretonischer Musik. Für die musikalische Untermalung des Abends sorgte das Gipsy Jazz Ensemble Manouche Jean-Michel LEDUC.
An den lebhaften Unterhaltungen im Schloss konnte man erkennen, dass es für alle ein sehr gelungener und interessanter Abend war, an den wir gerne zurückdenken.
Zu später Stunde besuchten wir noch den Botanischen Garten von Nantes. Er war in herrlichsten Farben illuminiert und bot dadurch eine besondere Atmosphäre.
