The Kettle Moraine State Forest is a state forest in southeastern Wisconsin. The chief feature of the reserve is the Kettle Moraine, a highly glaciated area. The area contains very hilly terrain and glacial landforms, such as kettles, kames and eskers. The 56,000-acre forest is divided into two large and three small units, which are spread across a hundred miles. The forest includes 250 miles of hiking trails, almost 100 miles of cross-country ski trails, 130 miles of equestrian trails, 150 miles of snowmobile trails, 75 miles of off-road bicycle trails including 30 miles of singletrack trail, and 750 campsites.All units include a portion of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and most units have horse/snowmobile trails. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is an annual gathering of aviation enthusiasts held each summer at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States. The Southern part of the show grounds as well as Camp Scholler are located in the town of Nekimi. The airshow is sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association , an international organization based in Oshkosh, and is the largest of its kind in the world. Cave of the Mounds, a natural limestone cave located near Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, United States, is named for two nearby hills called the Blue Mounds. It is located in the southern slope of the east hill. The cave's beauty comes from its many varieties of mineral formations called speleothems. The Chicago Academy of Sciences considers the Cave of the Mounds to be the significant cave of the upper Midwest because of its beauty, and it is promoted as the jewel box of major American caves. In 1987, the United States Department of the Interior and the National Park Service designated the cave as a National Natural Landmark.

Paradise Springs Nature Area in the Wisconsin Kettle Moraine South

I photographed Paradise Springs on October 14, 2014. The dam for this two acre trout filled lake malfunctioned on June 19, 2015. Now the lake is mostly drained. Fortunately, this and other natural areas are nearby. Look for Scuppernong.
