In De Hel - Groot Winterhoek Mountains
In De Hel - Groot Winterhoek Mountains
Mr Mistoffeles is a song from Cats by Andrew Lloyd Weber and the lyrics go Was there ever a cat as clever as magical Mr Mestophelees ... I want to say Was there ever a mountain pool as serene as the Groot Winterhoek Hell Groot Winterhoek and De Hel is close to Porterville in the Western Cape.
We were a group of 10 people who hiked to De Tronk (where we slept two evenings) and from there we hiked to De Hel (The Hell).
This is introductory Cederberg and the rock formations are to die for. And then a River Runs through it - WATER, makes all the difference.
Walking from De Tronk the scenery becomes more rugged and you could be forgiven if you think the river is gone. Then starts a very steep descent and suddenly you see something breathtakingly beautiful - De Hel!
No photo and video can ever take you there. At the very best it is a poor imitation of something momentous. This video can whet your appetite - or, if you cannot do the hike - it is a glimpse on heaven.
Enjoy!

Spectacular South Africa
South Africa is a country on the southernmost tip of the African continent, marked by several distinct ecosystems. Inland safari destination Kruger National Park is populated by big game. The Western Cape offers beaches, lush Winelands around Stellenbosch and Paarl, craggy cliffs at the Cape of Good Hope, forest and lagoons along the Garden Route, and the city of Cape Town, beneath flat-topped Table Mountain.
South Africa is ranked sixth out of the world's seventeen megadiverse countries with more than 20,000 different plants. The most prevalent biome in South Africa is the grassland, particularly on the Highveld, where the plant cover is dominated by different grasses, low shrubs, and acacia trees, mainly camel-thorn and whitethorn. There are significant numbers of baobab trees in this area, near the northern end of Kruger National Park. The Kruger National Park is the largest of the 291 conservation parks in South Africa. South Africa also boasts 8 World Heritage Sites.
South Africa has a huge wildlife abundance of wildlife with 299 different mammal and 858 bird species.

Bouldering fun for all ages in the Cederberg
Flitting through the rocks like a lizard, bouldering is a great past-time for those who want to explore the outdoors from different heights.
The best part is that it doesn't need any ropes or harnesses - just some climbing shoes and a crash pad mat to save you from your fall.
The craggy crevices of Cederberg host to the most world-famous Rocklands - THE place to get best bouldering experience in the world. It has a tight-knit climbing community with lots of marked trails, but a lot of care is put in by the community and CapeNature to ensure that everyone climbs in a sustainable manner.
The Rocklands Development Association (RAD) aims to include the local community and their children in the climbing culture and nurture talent from a young age by helping out with gear and getting the kids involved in competitions.
They also built a climbing wall at the local primary school and also focus on developing cultural tourism with the Cederberg communities.
Bouldering is not only fun, but can also open doors to world where you can conquer your fear of heights.

Rhino Anti Poaching // Aquila Safari // VLOG_080
Rhino poaching is a huge issue, so I went along to Aqulia Reserve 2hrs from Cape Town to check it out. The wildlife was amazing and the safari tour was incredible. There are so many things to do in cape town and Aquila is one of the top places to stay in Cape Town.
This is a definite weekend thing to do in Cape Town but the more important issue is the rhino poaching. Rhino horn is sold to the east for tons of cash and used as medicine. Please help stop Rhino poaching by donating to #savetherhino.
The Aquila Private Game Reserve is a game reserve in Western Cape Province, South Africa and perfect for a weekend getaway. Aquila has animals such as the springbok, lion, Cape porcupine, Chacma baboon, leopard, and African elephant and all the big five.

Driving around South Africa - Swartberg Pass
This time you can see parts of the Swartberg Pass, which connects Prince Albert (Great Karroo, North) and Oudtshoorn (Little Karroo, South), Western Cape, South Africa.
It's approx. 30 km long and on its highest point 1600m high.
The pass was built in the 80ies of the 19th century by Thomas Bain using convict labour.
This clip covers only half the pass but it gives an impression of some nice views and the serpentines, starting on Prince Albert's side in the North.
Here is some more information about the pass and the Swartberg-mountains:
