South Africa is a huge and wild country with different kind of sights wherever you hop off the bus. We travelled from JOHANNESBURG TO CAPE TOWN in 22 days by BAZ Bus:

Travel guide for South Africa (coast to coast):
We stopped at a couple of places to n the way through South Africa: Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Drakensberg, Lesotho, Durban, Coffey Bay, Storms River, Port Elizabeth, Wilderness and Cape Town. We also visited the Cape Town Peninsular. All the way from east to west we travelled with BAZ Bus - they offer a hop on hop off ticket. We also met many people doing the same way by car, but for us it was a very relaxed way to get around. Driving is not my best skill and on top you drive on the left side of the road in South Africa.

Two of the best flower-viewing hotspots in the Cape Region are the Postberg section (only open from August to September) of the West Coast National Park and the western section of the Tankwa Karoo National Park.
If heading to the West Coast National Park, enter through the Langebaan gate and drive toward the Seeberg area before moving toward the Postberg section. Keep an eye out for the Kraalbaai, Preekstoel (has braai facilities) and Uitkyk picnic areas; each treats flora lovers to a spectacular view of the blooms and the surrounding parkland. Also, don’t forget, the West Coast National Park’s charming Geelbek restaurant sells ready-made picnic baskets perfect for a lekker lunchtime pitstop amidst Mother Nature.
If trekking up to the Tankwa Karoo National Park, take in the colourful carpets of yellow and white blooms in the western section of the reserve before heading toward the Roggeveld Escarpment, where you’ll find budding beauties showing off their purple, deep orange, red and pink petals. Atop the mountains, rarer, more exotic bulbous plants and succulents dust the barren earth with their vibrant colouring.
When is the best time to view the spring flowers in the Cape Region?
Spring flower season in the Cape Region runs from the beginning of August to the end of September; though, both the West Coast and the Tankwa Karoo national parks’ best viewing period is from the last two weeks of August until mid-September.
Also, keep in mind that the flowers only throw back their delicate heads on sunny days. So, don’t go bloom hunting on a cloudy afternoon, and wait until the sun’s high in the sky (between 10:30am and 3:30pm is best) to take in the exquisite flora. Though, if making a mission to the West Coast National Park, it’s not a bad idea to arrive early in anticipation of potential queues.
If unsure about whether the blooms are still on show, give the park offices a call (West Coast National Park: +27(0)22 772 2144 and Tankwa Karoo National Park: +27(0)27 341 1927). It’s also idea good idea to stop off at the park visitor centres to confirm the best viewing routes.

Cape Town Bloubergstrand
Bloubergstrand is a suburb of Cape Town along the shores of Table Bay, about 25 km to the north of the city centre of Cape Town. The name Bloubergstrand literally means blue mountain beach in Afrikaans, and is derived from Blauwberg, a nearby mountain. Bloubergstrand is mainly a residential area, and attracts a large numbers of visitors. The beach at Bloubergstrand is a popular location for a classic view of Table Mountain across the bay. Robben Island is located 6,9 km west of the coast of Bloubergstrand. Bloubergstrand has a long white sand beach on the Atlantic ocean, with a few rocky outcrops where black mussels are found. The water is cold due to the cold Benguela current but the beach is popular with surfers. The bay on the west side of Bloubergstrand, known as 'Big Bay' has become a very popular kitesurfing spot due to the constant trade winds bringing a 1-3m surf for a majority of the year. Big Bay beach is also well known for the ease with which White Mussels can be extracted from the sand by a process locally known as 'jiving'. The Bloubergstrand area falls within a Marine Nature Reserve and the extraction of species such as Cape rock lobster and abalone is prohibited. A license is required in order to catch previously well-known local varieties of Galjoen and Hottentot. Seafood is popular in the area, and includes the local white mussels. In season Southern Right Whales, occasionally Killer Whales, Humpback Dolphins, Haviside's Dolphin and Cape Fur Seals are commonly seen in the bay.
