Dalarna County is a county or län in middle Sweden . It borders the counties of Uppsala, Jämtland, Gävleborg, Västmanland, Örebro and Värmland. It is also bordered by the Norwegian counties of Hedmark and Sør-Trøndelag in the west. The term Dalarna County is mainly used for administrative purposes, being further subdivided into municipalities . Dalarna County virtually encompasses the historical province Dalarna , that deals with history and culture of the area.

1. Falu Gruva Falun
Falun Mine was a mine in Falun, Sweden, that operated for a millennium from the 10th century to 1992. It produced as much as two thirds of Europe's copper needs and helped fund many of Sweden's wars in the 17th century. Technological developments at the mine had a profound influence on mining globally for two centuries. The mine is now a museum and in 2001 was designated a UNESCO world heritage site.

Upplev Sverige! – en reseguide landskap för landskap

Styggforsen

Styggforsens naturreservat ligger ett par mil norr om Rättvik, intill Boda Kyrkby. Här finns ett 36 meter högt vattenfall; imponerande under alla årstider men kanske allra mest under snösmältningen i april/maj. Från Fogdeklippan har man en enastående utsikt över vattnet som kastar sig ut för de branta klipporna, den högresta granskogen och den djupa ravinen med all sin trollskog. Här finns också en rövargrotta. En bit nedströms står man intill den enorma, nästan horisontella Getryggen som stupar ner i ån. Urberget i öppen dager minner om en fem kilometer stor meterorit som slog ner här mitt i Siljansringen för ca 360 miljoner år sedan och ställde berget helt på kant. Styggforsen är ett av de mest populära besöksmålen i Rättvik och dessutom är upplevelsen helt gratis. En 750 meter lång vandringsled guidar besökaren runt vattenfallet. Besökarna går i branta trappor och på kullriga skogsstigar och grova rötter. Sittplatser finns utplacerade på lämpliga ställen. En kaffestuga finns öppen sommartid. Glöm inte kameran!

Värmland. A landskape in Sweden

This is a film where I brought together footage from province Värmland that I have taken for several years and made an film about its beautiful nature and what you encounters in these lands. This movie is also a kind of thankfulness to my father who passed away on 20 May 2012. He was a big wilderness person that among other things became Swedish champion in orienteering so he had great knowledge to move around in the woods with a map. He inspired me to be out in the woods since I was a little boy. A great father.
