Not to be confused with Alvesta in Kronoberg County, Sweden. Avesta is a locality and the seat of Avesta Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 11,949 inhabitants in 2015.The name is first found in 1303 as Aghastadhum. Aghe is of similar origin as the word å, meaning stream, in this case the Avestafors, a tributary of the river Dalälven. Stadhum was dative plural of a word of similar origin as stead, or farm.

Avesta Municipality is one of 290 municipalities of Sweden. It is in Dalarna County, in the central part of the country, and its seat is in the town of Avesta. The municipality in its present size was created in 1967 when the four surrounding municipalities were joined with the then City of Avesta. In 1971 it became a municipality of unitary type. Avesta borders to the municipalities of: Hedemora in Dalarna, Hofors and Sandviken in Gävleborg County, Norberg and Sala in Västmanland County

Furuvik Zoo is an amusement park and zoo in Furuvik, Sweden.Furuviksparken was founded in 1900 by Oscar Jakobsson and officially opened by count Olle Cronstedt. In 1938 the zoo was bought by Gösta Nygren, who managed the zoo for 45 years. Nygren established a youth circus, Furiksbarnen , which became the main attraction not only in the park but also on travelling tours. Nyhren also introduced live concerts with famous artists, like Louis Armstrong, Jussi Björling and Sammy Davis. Gävle Municipality took over the park 1983, again sold to Tom Widorson in 2004, and in 2010 sold to the present owner, Parks & Resorts Scandinavia.

The big lake you see is called Vättern.

Vättern is the second largest lake (by surface area) in Sweden, and the sixth largest lake in Europe.

One of the etymologies for name Vättern is from vatten, the Swedish word for water. This origin is, however, unclear and in dispute. It has also been suggested that the archaic term vätter, meaning forest or lake spirits, is the origin of the lake's name.

In this little town and around the lake, is many non-physical beings, I have experienced, the presence of dragons, unicorns, angels, fairies, and there have also been a lot of UFOs in and around the lake.
