Road Trip to Hyder, Alaska
Silly America hits the road for the Friendliest Ghost Town in Alaska! Hyder is the only town in southern Alaska that is accessible by road and definitely worth the ride! What's there to do in Hyder? You can stop at the post office to mail some post cards, go bear watching, and, of course, stop at the Glacier Inn to get Hyderized!

This was the day we entered Alaska, going through customs was an easy affair. We would travel to the city of Tok and spend the night at Tok RV park

American Border Oddity: The Most Canadian Place in America!
While you can find Canadians in almost any country of the world, there is one place in America that is the absolute MOST CANADIAN: Point Roberts, Washington State.
Point Roberts is a geographic anomaly in that it is physically cut off from the continental lower 48 states and can only be accessed via a Canadian peninsula that is just south of Vancouver.
Over 60% of the residents and land owners are Canadian. It is mostly frequented by Canadians who are seeking cheap gasoline and groceries.
It is considered the most gated community in America, as you have to pass thru 2 borders to drive there. Due to this factor and its relative isolation, it has been reported as one of the most popular places for the U.S. Federal government to relocate people in the Witness Protection Program.

Motorcycle Ride around Alaska & back home to Calgary Alberta Season 2 Episode 4
In Season 2 Episode 4 we ride our motorcycles around Alaska and make our way back home to Calgary Alberta. Scenery, people and adventures didn't let us down on the 2nd half of our trip, as we crossed back and forth from United States to Canada a few times. We rode down on the Homer Spit, enjoyed an Alaskan King Crab mean, took a ferry to Skagway, was Hyderized in Hyder Alaska and sadly each day brought us closer to home.
2 Harley Davidson's, 2 Victory's, 4 friends who enjoyed an amazing 22 days of riding our motorcycles from Alberta, through British Columbia, the Yukon over the Top of the World Highway, into Alaska, and turning south to make our way back home to Calgary Alberta.
Join us this week as we ride around Alaska, having super weather with the odd rain shower/down pour, many of the roads were great but a few not so great. So many amazing things to see & do along the way, some was very unexpected but mostly
kept us speechless and a big smile to see the beauty our countries have to offer.

St. Joseph Peninsula, best beach in the world
It's easy to see why this park is one of the top rated beaches in the United States. Some of the highest dunes in the nation are here as well as some of the last remaining coastal sand pine scrub (just looked like grasses to us but I am sure it's very important grass). We didn't stay at the park but they do offer camping and had some really nice sites. If you're looking for a relaxing and beautiful getaway, this beach is on our top 10 list!

Alaska Tour - Homer, AK - Stop #14
Today we traveled further southward from Anchorage, AK to Homer, AK. It was about 200 miles filled with spectacular scenery!
Along the way, we stopped for lunch at the Portage Valley Chugach National Forest and I was able to fly my quadcopter to capture the splendor of the mountains, lakes and glaciers!
In Homer, once set up in the campground, I was able to take a quick quadcopter flight to show even more snow covered mountains across the river!
The following day, a few of us set out on a Deep Sea Fishing Trip to fish for Halibut. We started out at about 6AM and returned around 12PM. The weather was bright and sunny, the winds light, and the water nice and smooth for our 1-1/2 hr, 21 mile ride out to sea. Once there, we had great luck catching Halibut! Each was approximately 29 inches long and weighing around 10 pounds! I am proud to state that we all caught our limit of 2 in no time flat!!

Traveling to Alaska | Alaska Day 1
Just before summer break ended, my family did a spontaneous trip to Alaska just to experience some wildlife and to get away from the boring bay area life. :) Watch what I do in Alaska, as it is my first time there!

Powered by - Alaska Regions - There are no officially defined borders demarcating the various regions of Alaska, but there are six widely accepted regions:
South Central
The most populous region of Alaska, containing Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and the Kenai Peninsula. Rural, mostly unpopulated areas south of the Alaska Range and west of the Wrangell Mountains also fall within the definition of Southcentral, as well as the Prince William Sound area and the communities of Cordova and Valdez.
Southeast
Also referred to as the Panhandle or Inside Passage, this is the region of Alaska closest to the rest of the United States. As such, this was where most of the initial non-indigenous settlement occurred in the years following the Alaska Purchase. The region is dominated by the Alexander Archipelago as well as the Tongass National Forest, the largest national forest in the United States. It contains the state capital Juneau, the former capital Sitka, and Ketchikan, at one time Alaska's largest city. The Alaska Marine Highway provides a vital surface transportation link throughout the area, as only three communities (Haines, Hyder and Skagway) enjoy direct connections to the contiguous North American road system.
