Alaska Tour - Chicken & Tok, AK - Stop #10
Leaving Dawson City, Yukon and headed for Chicken, Alaska was very fun and challenging! It started off at around 5AM where we headed to the ferry to take us across the river. The ferry only held 2 RV's, so we all rushed to be first!
After crossing the river, we found ourselves on the Top of the World Highway! This is where Canada built a road to go across the tops of the mountains, where the US builds them in the valleys! The views were spectacular, and the ups & downs challenging!
After about a 2 hour drive we passed thru US Customs and began a 7 mile decent into the valleys toward Chicken Alaska. Here we had lunch, and got a tour of the original cabins of Chicken, and were shown Tisha's Old School House.
We then reformed into our Caravan and traveled to Tok, Alaska for the night. Here many of us washed our rigs as they were absolutely filthy from all the dust and mud from the past days travels! That night Spike gave us a short talk about Faribanks, Alaska, and we all played Pancake Toss!

I was told that there couldn't be a tornado in Anchorage Alaska (Muldoon & Tudor Rd Intersection) but I was wrong. This was a very scary moment as I watched a tornado try to build from a funnel. WOW!

Dennis Creek Trail at Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge
This trail is located at the southern end of the refuge by Shell Mound Trail. Dennis Creek Trail is short but very scenic. The Trail and boardwalks pass through marsh and upland areas. Benches are provided along the way. Nice views of marshes and tidal creeks here.
