L'Argentière-la-Bessée is a commune of the Hautes-Alpes department in the Alps in southeastern France. The town lies on the River Durance, which is used for kayaking, white-water rafting and other water sports. The Argentiere Canoe Slalom Course is in the Durance River south of the town. The town is located on the edge of the Écrins National Park. There is an SNCF station in the town with trains running to Briançon and Paris. The village has an old silver mine , which is now opened to tourists.

1. Lac de Serre-Poncon Savines Le Lac
Lake Serre-Ponçon is a reservoir in the departments of Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in southeast France, one of the largest in Western Europe. The lake gathers the waters of the Durance and the Ubaye rivers, flowing down through the Hautes-Alpes and the Alpes du Sud to the Rhône River. The waters are dammed by the Barrage de Serre-Ponçon, a 123-metre high earth core dam. As well as water control, sixteen hydroelectric plants use the water , and the lake provides irrigation to 1,500 square kilometres of land.
