The Rattler (NC 209) + Ride Review - US Motorcycle Trip Part 15
Day 10 - Our run on the Rattler (NC 209), from Lake Junaluska to Hot Springs, and a quick ride review from the pool at Switzerland Inn in Little Switzerland.
The Rattler was our least favorite run of the entire trip due to slow traffic and gravel in a lot of the corners. Riding it on a Sunday afternoon probably didn't help with the traffic situation but the gravel in corners is a big concern. Having said that, the road and scenery is nice. Just be careful in some of the corners.
On July 22, 2016, we set out on a two week motorcycle trip from New Brunswick, Canada to North Carolina, USA on our 2002 Honda Shadow ACE 750 and 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 250.
We covered 13 states, from Maine to Georgia, and racked up a total of 6800 km (4200 mi). Highlights included the Blue Ridge Parkway, Diamondback 226, Tail of the Dragon, Moonshiner 28, Cherohala Skyway, the Rattler, and the Devil's Whip.
