Leffe is a town and comune near the Alps in Lombardy, Italy. It is located in the Val Gandino, nearly 80 kilometres from Milan, and administratively part of the province of Bergamo. The town is a center of textile industry.

Milan to Genoa by Train via Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, Italy

We took a cheap flight from Manchester (UK) to Milan (Italy) and a cheap flight back from Genoa (Italy) back to Manchester (UK) six days later.

In between, we caught trains from Milan - Parma - La Spezia - Riomaggiore and on to Genoa. We flew into Milan at approximately 3pm (2 hours late) and then caught a train to Milan Central where we changed trains. We took advantage of the Leffe Beer giveaway in between trains. From Milan Central we travelled to Parma where we due to pick up our connection to La Spezia.

Disaster struck at Parma because the earlier delay meant we missed the final connection. We found a hotel outside the station which worked well as it had big beds and a good breakfast and we were tired by that point.

The next day we travelled from Parma to La Spezia along a scenic branch line and then we picked up our final connection to Riomaggiore.

We stayed in Riomaggiore for three nights. That was enough to see all the villages in Cinque Terre. Riomaggiore was beautiful but it might have been better to stay at Monterosso as there was more going on.

Cinque Terre is a good place for a short stay. The villages are visually beautiful but the restaurants are overpriced and a bit tourist trappy. La Spezia is a good Italian feeling working town with good restaurants shopping and a harbour.

After three nights we continued along the coastal railway to Genoa. We loved Genoa, a friendly Italian city with lots to do.

Happily we did it all with a six month old baby.

Milan airport to Milan Central - 50 minutes
Milan Central to Parma - 2 hours
Parma to La Spezia - 2 hours 15 minutes
La Spezia to Riomaggiore - 10 minutes

Spain v Portugal supermarket prices 2018

In this video I again compare supermarket prices in Portugal with supermarket prices in Spain in order to see what it will cost to you shop in both countries. The supermarket in Portugal is Minipreço, and in Spain Plaza Día. They both belong to the same company and stock the same products.

The video was shot in April 2018 and it was not peak tourist season.
