Those first sea cucumbers elaborated by hand with the esparto that grew in the adjoining forests, were the grounds of an important shoemaking industry that is located in Elda between one of the first Alicante, shoe production cities.

Citrus fruits, artichokes, potatoes, wheat… orchards and fields, make up the landscape that surrounds the Daya Nueva population. A rich environment that was not so in the past, when the first inhabitants of the town had to drain swamps and marginal waters.

Los Montesinos is a young town. Until 1990, the date in which Almoradí was emancipated, it was a district. This does not mean that it does not have a rich and ancient history. Not in vain, the Via Augusta that circulated about 2,000 years ago between Rome and Cádiz passes through its municipal terms.

Crevillent has grown around its’ factories and around the materials that have given so much fame to its’ rugs: esparto grass, (JUNTOS), and wool. Next to their house—caves of the adjoining hills the medieval Crevillent coexist with a more modern urban helmet and a rich environment in ecosystems.

The name of the town indicates to us its origin: a salty lagoon that presides in the municipal terms. The Iberians situated a town in its environment. In the Altos de Don Pedro mountain in the archaeological site of “El Puntal” there have been numerous remains discovered that demonstrate a notable commercial characteristic.
