Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in north-western France. Its French name refers to Saint Gildas, who founded the abbey of Saint-Gildas-de-Ruys on the Rhuys Peninsula in the 6th century. From 920 to 1008, the Norman raids forced the monks to bring the relics of the saint to the abbey of Saint-Gildas of Châteauroux that they founded under the protection of the prince Ebbes of Déols.

Planète Sauvage is a zoological park situated in the French Atlantic coast, in Port-Saint-Père near Nantes, in the Loire-Atlantique departement. Founded in 1992 by Monique and Dany Laurent and known as the Safari Africain until 1998, it was then operated by the Compagnie des Alpes between 2005 and 2015. Since that date the park has been the property of the multinational company Looping Group, whose main shareholder is a Belgian private equity fund of the Groupe Bruxelles Lambert. Its director is Philippe Vignaud. The park covers about 80 hectares of land, where almost 1,000 animals of about 150 species live, and is a blend of a safari portion visible by car and a pedestrian part which includes one of the three dolphinariums of metropolitan France, where bottlenose dolphins are presented....

The Château de Suscinio or de Susinio is a French castle, built in the late Middle Ages, to be the residence of the Dukes of Brittany. It is located in the commune of Sarzeau in the département of Morbihan, near the coast of the Atlantic ocean. The spectacular site comprises the moated castle, a ruined chapel, a dovecote, and a few ruined outbuildings.

Rochefort-en-Terre is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in north-western France. Rochefort-en-Terre is a designated “Petite Cité de Caractére”. The medieval chateau located in the town was the home of American painter Alfred Klots. He purchased the chateau in the early 1900s and oversaw its restoration. His son Trafford Klots inherited the chateau and continued to paint there and entertain other visiting artists. After his death his wife donated the building to the French government. In the grounds of the building is the NAIA museum, named after an early twentieth century witch who lived in the town. It houses a small collection of fantasy and kinetic art and sculpture.

The Oratory of the Paraclete was a Benedictine monastery founded by Peter Abelard in Ferreux-Quincey, France, after he left the Abbey of St. Denis about 1121. However, nothing remains of the Oratory. In 1125 he was elected by the monks of the Abbey at Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, near Vannes, Brittany, to be their abbot, so he turned the Paraclete over to Heloise, his wife, who had been in a convent in Argenteuil since taking the veil. She became the Paraclete's abbess and spent the rest of her life there. She and Abelard were buried together there until 1792, when their remains were transferred to the church of Nogent-sur-Seine nearby. In 1817, their bodies were reportedly moved to a new tomb at Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, but whether they are both actually buried there remains a matter of...
