Walking through Downtown San Jose, Costa Rica in 4K 60 fps
A nice walk on downtown San Jose, Costa Rica on a nice Saturday morning and afternoon. I stayed at Holiday Inn downtown Aurola. Walked from Calle5 to Avenida Central. Visited the metropolitan Cathedral on way. Also the Central Market and National Theater for Performing Arts in separate videos.It was a beautiful walk with all the interesting stores, food, cafes, street musicians and the very friendly people. Would like to return soon.

코스타리카는 1년의 절반 이상이 우기다. 풍부한 강수로 열대우림이 발달한 곳도 상당하다. 물을 가득 머금은 우림은 우리가 흔히 보던 숲과는 또 다른 느낌을 준다. 나는 테노리오 국립공원의 우림을 지나 리오 셀레스테 폭포에 도착했다. 원주민들은 이곳을 신이 하늘을 색칠하다가 실수로 물감을 떨어뜨린 곳이라 말한다. 아름다운 하늘색 물빛을 표현하는 귀여운 상상력이다. 이날은 햇빛이 잘 들지 않아 그 빛이 조금 흐렸지만 기념사진을 남기기엔 충분히 아름다웠다. “정말 엄청나요. 얼마나 다양한 색과 식물들이 있는지 가까이서 보면 정말 많은 동물들과 곤충들이 존재하는 걸 볼 수 있을 거예요. 작은 거 하나하나를 집중해서 보길 권해요. 조그만 차이점들이 눈에 보이기 시작하면 정말 환상적이거든요” 폭포에서 떨어진 물은 강이 되어 흐른다. 흐르는 강물을 따라 코스타리카 자연이 더욱 풍성해진다. 거대하게 자라나는 강 주변의 나무가 그 증거다. 노벨평화상 수상자인 코스타리카 전 대통령 아리아스는 이 나무를 평화의 나무라 불렀다. 몸 안에 수많은 생명을 품고 있는 나무의 모습이 평화를 상징한다고 본 것이다. 나무 바로 아래. 조용히 우리를 지켜보는 작은 친구가 있었다. 딸기독화살개구리다. 앙증맞은 외모와는 달리 피부에서 신경독이 흘러나오는 독개구리다. 파란색의 다리가 마치 청바지 같다고 하여 코스타리카블루진이라고 불리기도 한다. “매우 즐거워 보이는데요” “네, 신나요. 보기 힘든 개구리로 알고 있거든요” 코스타리카 여행은 마치 보물찾기 같다. 곳곳에 숨어 있는 보석을 찾아내는 재미가 있다.
