Zell am Ziller in Summer 2018 [Alps, Zillertal arena] - Travel Austria
Zell am Ziller is a municipality in the Schwaz district in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The name derives from the river Ziller.
The Zillertal Arena was formed in 2000 from a merger of the ski areas of Zell, Gerlos and Königsleiten and is the largest ski area in the Ziller valley. It is accessed by the Rosenalmbahn and, since the 2010/11 season, by the Karspitzbahn, whose valley station is located in the parish of Zell. Several ski bus companies operate in Zell am Ziller during the skiing season. When there is sufficient snow, cross-country skiing trails are cut at Ziller (both classic and, in some cases, skating).

Hall in Tirol, Austria
If you go on a journey of discovery to medieval Hall, you will find yourself in what could well be the Tyrol's most beautiful town. It certainly has one of Austria's best-preserved historic cores and serves as an excellent example of how a successful symbiosis with modern architectural designs can be achieved.
The fine buildings in Hall's Old Town testify to the settlement's prosperous past. Salt mining in the Middle Ages transformed Hall into the north Tyrol's main commercial centre. Even then the town was an important trading post on the River Inn, and in the middle of the 15th century the provincial mint was established here, thereby creating the important preconditions for the advancement of the town to even greater commercial prosperity.
Today Hall is a vibrant town with a real zest for life; visitors can sample a wide variety of shops and savour high-class hospitality within historic walls. Every year, the lovingly restored Old Town and the Burg Hasegg complex with its Mint Tower and accompanying Mint Museum enchant visitors from all over the world. Town and country come together regularly at Hall's charming Christmas market, the Radish Festival and the Organic Mountain Farmers' Festival. Cultural highlights such as the Tyrolean Easter Festival, the Sprachsalz literary festival or the „Music plus” series of events are well known way beyond the town's boundaries, and in 2004 Hall became a university town.

Hall in Tyrol, Austria is located about 6 km north-east of Innsbruck. Hall has the largest and best-preserved medieval Old Town of Tyrol. The name is based on the Middle High German word hal, which means salt source. Already in 13th Century the life of the city was determined by salt mining.
Due to the proximity of the silver mines in Schwaz, the provincial mint was moved from Merano to Hall, in 1477. The first silver coin, the so-called Urtaler, was minted here in 1486. In the 16th Century, the first minting machine, known as roll press, was used here and later it was in operation worldwide.
Today, Hall is a popular destination for tourists from all over the world.
