Day Trip to Sorrento, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Considered the official start of the Amalfi Coast, the cliff-perched town of Sorrento makes for a quick and easy day trip. We caught the train in Pompei at Villa dei Misteri and took the Circumvesuviana line all the way down the coast. Our plan for the day? To eat and wander around without much of an itinerary.
Since we were visiting just before the holidays, the streets were decked out with all sorts of Christmas decorations. We befriended a few dogs along the way, and then we found a spot to indulge in coffees and pastries.
After walking through the town, we started making our way down to the waterfront, more specifically, to Marina Grande. This harbour is line with pastel-coloured buildings, boats bobbing in the water, and lots of seafood restaurants.
After walking the length of the marina and browsing through menus, we finally settled on a restaurant for lunch: Zi’Ntonio Mare.
Making our way back to town, we also attempted to visit Sorrento Cathedral, but we arrived outside of opening hours so here’s a quick look from the exterior.
From there, we continued down some of Sorrento’s pedestrian-friendly side streets, which were lined with small shops and outdoor produce stalls. Limoncello seemed to be by far the most popular souvenir, so if you’re looking for a taste of the famed lemon liqueur, this is a good place to stock up!
Our last stop of the day were the Cloisters of San Francis, where there was a small art exhibition taking place. These cloisters are also located in small park with great views of the coastline and the Mediterranean Sea, so we enjoyed the views one last time and then it was time to head back.
This is part of our Travel in Italy video series showcasing Italian food, Italian culture and Italian cuisine.

Places to see in ( Marsala - Italy )
Marsala is an Italian town located in the Province of Trapani in the westernmost part of Sicily. Marsala is the most populated town in its province and the fifth in Sicily. The town is famous for the docking of Giuseppe Garibaldi on 11 May 1860 (the Expedition of the Thousand) and for its Marsala wine. A feature of the area is the Stagnone Lagoon Natural Reserve — a marine area with salt ponds. Marsala is built on the ruins of the ancient Carthaginian city of Lilybaeum, and includes in its territory the archaeological site of the island of Motya, an ancient Phoenician town.
Situated at the extreme western point of Sicily, the town was founded on Lilibeo Cape from where the Aegadian Islands and the Stagnone Lagoon can be seen. The territory of Marsala, 241 square kilometres (93 sq mi), has a rich cultural and landscape heritage; its area includes the Stagnone Lagoon, a Natural Reserve in which is located the island of Mozia.
In 397 BCE the Phoenician colony of Motya on the southwestern coast of Sicily was invaded and destroyed by the Syracusan tyrant Dionysius I. The survivors founded a town on the mainland nearby that they called Lilybaion (Lilybaeum in Latin), The town that looks at Libya, on the site of modern-day Marsala. The Punic fortress Lilybaion was never conquered although it was besieged several times, e.g. by Pyrrhus of Epirus and by the Romans.
Ravaged by Vandals during the 5th century CE, the town was annexed in the 6th century to Justinian's Byzantine Empire. In this period the town was struck by dysentery, raided by pirates, and neglected by Constantinople. Since the end of the 11th century, the area has been conquered by Swedish, Norman, Angevin and Aragonese troops. During this time, Marsala became wealthy, primarily through trade.

LA Food Truck Serves The Juiciest Tacos
Birrieria San Marcos has some of the best tacos in Los Angeles thanks to their specialty: birria tacos. These tacos are bathed in broth from a stew, consomme, and the meat is slow cooked in it for hours. The tacos are then served crispy off the grill with a side of that same stew like a Mexican French Dip! They are some of the most flavorful tacos in LA, and Birrieria San Marcos has become popular on Instagram. We went to see what these tacos are all about and were seriously impressed.

Places to see in ( Modena - Italy )
Places to see in ( Modena - Italy )
Modena is a city in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. It’s known for its balsamic vinegar and opera heritage, plus Ferrari and Lamborghini sports cars. The Enzo Ferrari Museum has exhibits on the life and work of the car designer, in his childhood home, plus iconic models in a futuristic building. In the 18th-century Museum Palace is the Estense Gallery, with works by Tintoretto and Correggio, plus a bust by Bernini.
If Italy were a meal, Modena would be the main course. Here, on the flat plains of the slow-flowing Po, lies one of the nation's great gastronomic centres, the creative force behind real balsamic vinegar, giant tortellini stuffed with tantalising fillings, sparkling Lambrusco wine and backstreets crammed with some of the best restaurants no one's ever heard of (and one, Osteria Francescana, that everybody has – it was awarded the top spot on the coveted 'World's 50 Best Restaurants' list in 2016, the first Italian restaurant to nab the honour).
For those with bleached taste buds, the city has another equally lauded legacy: cars. The famous Ferrari museum is situated in the nearby village of Maranello. Modena is also notable for its haunting Romanesque cathedral and as the birthplace of the late Italian opera singer Pavarotti, whose former home is now a worthwhile museum just outside town.
The town is well-known all over the world, especially for some famous people who were born and lived here - such as Enzo Ferrari and Luciano Pavarotti, and for some of its gastronomical products. However, Modena should not only be known for these things. It is also a town that, in 40 years, has become one of the richest and most socially advanced in Italy: 48 miles of cycling paths, 16 cinemas, 25 libraries, and one of the oldest universities in Europe.
Modena is favored by a few geographical and environmental factors: its location in the middle of the Po valley, in one of the most advanced areas in the whole continent (the evidence for this is unknown at this time), and it is positioned on the main trading routes between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. It sits at the crossroads between the Brenner motorway and the Autostrada del Sole, just a few miles from the important railway and airport node of Bologna. Tourists from all over the world are attracted to visit the art treasures in Modena: the 12th century Cathedral, masterpieces of Italian Romanesque art, that, together with Piazza Grande and the Ghirlandina tower, creates a complex of unique beauty, included by UNESCO among the Wealth of Mankind.
Modena is also known as the Land of Motors. You can find the main supercars factories in Modena or in the province like Ferrari, Maserati or Pagani Zonda. People can visit a lot of museums and private car collections like Museum Enzo Ferrari (in town), Museum Ferrari (in Maranello), Panini car collection, Stanguellini car collection and many others... The territory of Modena and province is synonymous of good food too. The precious Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese or Lambrusco wine are just some examples of it. Food lovers can visit the farms and see the making of these great products.
Erected in 1099 in the place where previously an early Christian church and the sepulchre of San Geminiano stood - whose body was solemnly transported to the cathedral on 30 April 1106 in the presence of the countess Matilde di Canossa. The Piazza with its paving made of cobblestones and its Ghirlandina tower, delimited to the north and east by the Cathedral and the Town Hall, was recognised by UNESCO as heritage of mankind. It is the centre of life of the city.
The Ghirlandina Tower, so called because of the double twist of balustrades which crown it like a garland, is 86 meters high and the symbol of the city. The Ducal Palace, whose construction began in 1634 on design of Avanzini, distinguishes itself as illustrious example of 18th century civil architecture and one of the largest Baroque palaces in Italy.

10 Best Places to Visit in Hungary.
While Hungary is famous for its goulash and paprika (which, by the way, originated in the New World), it’s known for much more than that, including world-class fine wines and its pear liqueur, an orange-colored sweet dessert treat, sometimes known as palinka.
Visitors to Hungary quickly learn it is a land of many cultures, having been ruled over by the Romans, Ottomans, Mongols, Magyars, Czechs and the Soviets. Remains of Roman fortifications can be found as can utterly spectacular buildings dating back to the Middle Ages. Hungary also is the land of the beautiful blue Danube River; no trip here would be complete without a boat ride on it. An overview of the best places to visit in Hungary:
