Lago di Tenno is a lake at Tenno in Trentino, Italy. At an elevation of 550 m, its surface area is 2.5 km². The lake was formed around the year 1100 following a large landslide that blocked the course of the river Rì Sec, which is currently the main tributary of the lake. In the southern portion of the lake there is a small island. The level of the lake varies over the years depending on the flow rate of the tributaries. In the years when the level is low this island becomes a kind of promontory. This area is protected by the Autonomous Province of Trento as a biotope.

Molveno, Italy and its beautiful lake - July 2012

Molveno is a nice little mountain village west of Trento in northen Italy. What makes it special is its beautiful lake. In July 2012 we stayed there for five days (four nights at Hotel Miralago, I can surely recommend it) with a lot of nordic walking in the surroundings. The first day we tried the footpath around the lake, about 11 km and the day after with the help of the mountain lift Molveno (890 m) - Pradel (1370 m) we reached Croz dell Altissimo (1480 m) after about two hours of panoramic walking. In the evenings there are often different sort of music entertainment in the church square. We also visited the old water-powered sawmill. The water in the lake is rather cold so the warm swimmingpool in our hotel was perfect for our tired legs. We hope to return as soon as possible. (Canon IXUS 860 IS)
