Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide
A crossing of the island of Bali from West to East on 120 km between Pemuteran and Kintamani with a stop at the traditional local market of Singaraja, the former administrative capital of Bali and for culminating the magnificent waterfalls of Sekumpul.
Pemuteran is a small fishing village on the northern coast of West Bali.
This is a small laid-back village which has become increasingly popular with visitors in recent years. There are a number of waterfront resorts and its proximity to Lovina and West Bali National Park together with the extreme natural beauty of the area, has fuelled quite rapid growth in tourism infrastructure in the area.
Pemuteran is home to the largest artificial Biorock reef project in the world and there is a real spirit of marine conservation effort in this area.

Kintamani is a highland area in the north of East Bali.
The area of north-eastern Bali at the Mount Batur caldera, and which encompasses Penelokan, Toya Bungkah, Batur, Kedisan, Abung, Songan and Kintamani villages, is known widely as just Kintamani. Kintamani, Batur and Penelokan villages sit on the rim of the huge Batur caldera about 1,500m above sea level, and offer dramatic views of the active volcano Mount Batur and serene Lake Batur. Toyo Bungkah village is down at the lake edge.
As well as the lake and the volcano, Kintamani is home to Pura Ulun Danu Batur, one of Bali's key nine directional temples.
A note from C.Bali (see: Other things to do in this area) The people of this area are very traditional Balinese, please show the upmost respect to the people by not walking on their farm lands, entering their temples (unless you wish to pray). Woman should cover their legs to the knees. The people of this area are warm and friendly when visitors to this amazing area show them respect.
=============
Singaraja is the largest city in North Bali, and the former colonial administrative capital of not only Bali, but the whole of the Lesser Sunda Islands..
Singaraja still has some of the feel of an old colonial capital. The streets are wider and grander than elsewhere in Bali and some of the old houses set in large gardens recall days long gone. Singaraja just looks different from other towns and cities in Bali. This is also a noticeably multi ethnic city. The Arabic influence is especially apparent in the district near the old docks called Kampung Arab and the largest Chinese temple in Bali is here.

Your magical Balinese adventure begins in the morning, when your friendly local guide will pick you up at your hotel in Bali and take you to the Goa Gajah Temple. Built directly into a cave, the façade is covered with carvings of animals and demons. Next it’s on to the natural spring waters of the Tirta Empul Temple, thought to have purifying properties and neighbored by the country’s presidential palace. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch overlooking the crater of the Kintamani Kintamani volcanic area, formed by a massive eruption thousands of years ago.
After lunch, relax your muscles in the warm natural hot springs of Toya Bungkah, home to many wading pools. Coffee lovers will get a kick out of a visit to the Bali Pulina Coffee Plantation, where you will learn how some of the world’s most expensive coffee is grown, produced and sold. Don’t miss the stunning natural scenery surrounding the plantation.
Continue on through the countryside, stopping at the Tegalalang Rice Terrace for amazing views of local rice paddies. These terraces take decades to build and are an ancient way of growing and producing rice, an important staple. After enjoying the scenery you’ll head off to the Monkey Forest to learn about conservation efforts aimed at protecting the long tail monkey, a species revered by locals. Your guide will drop you back off at your hotel at the end of the day.

Kintamani and Mount Batur
A Bali volcano can be a sightseeing highlight on your next trip to Bali's highland region. The Kintamani volcano or Mount Batur, in particular, is a very popular trek. The captivating Mount Batur surrounds the 13-square kilometre Batur caldera lake. Those with a penchant for adventure can take a winding road down to the lake shore. This leads you to Toya Bungkah, Ulun Danu Batur temple, and a collection of hot springs.
The Kintamani area consists of three main villages, namely Penelokan, Batur, and Kintamani. There are also some old Balinese villages around Batur Lake, often referred to as Bali Aga villages. Penelokan is a popular stopover. It serves as a vantage point at the southernmost part of the crater rim. From here, you can enjoy the sweeping views over the magnificent Bali volcano.

Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung, Bali, Indonesia. The south east side of the larger 10×13 km caldera contains a caldera lake. The inner 7.5-kilometer-wide caldera, which was formed during emplacement of the Bali (or Ubud) ignimbrite, has been dated at about 23,670 and 28,500 years ago [1]
The SE wall of the inner caldera lies beneath Lake Batur; Batur cone has been constructed within the inner caldera to a height above the outer caldera rim. The Batur stratovolcano has produced vents over much of the inner caldera, but a NE-SW fissure system has localized the Batur I, II, and III craters along the summit ridge. Historical eruptions have been characterized by mild-to-moderate explosive activity sometimes accompanied by lava emission. Basaltic lava flows from both summit and flank vents have reached the caldera floor and the shores of Lake Batur in historical time. The caldera contains an active, 700-metre-tall stratovolcano rising above the surface of Lake Batur. The first historically documented eruption of Batur was in 1804, and it has been frequently active since then.
The caldera is populated and includes the two main villages of Kedisan and Toya Bungkah. The locals largely rely on agriculture for income but tourism has become increasingly popular due to the relatively straightforward trek to the summit of the central crater. [2]
The lake, Danau Batur, is the largest crater lake on the island of Bali and is a good source of fish.
