The Dutch and their borders - The Netherlands from above
How do we draw our borders - from the national borders to the backyard fence? Behind the national borders we designed an ingenious system of defense works formed by a waterline. Now that the threat of war seems far away, Defense marines and military police train in a Groningen village for missions in war zones. But within the borders of the country, the demarcation continues. We separate fresh water from salt water, and overcome the consequences by importing and deploying thousands of minuscule fish into our inland waterways. On the market, the market master keeps a close and inexorable eye on whether the stand holder is staying at his assigned place. And when neighbors fight about the place of the new fence, the surveyor is turned on to settle the dispute. On the beach we put our spot off with a towel. Demarcation is in the genes.
The Netherlands from above shows us a country from a spectacular perspective. From the sky it is possible to see how the Netherlands changes through the seasons, and how in parallel they form the determining moments of our own life cycle. Through data visuals, impressive aerial images and portraits of people on the ground, the second series of the Netherlands from above outlines an image of how time has changed our country and how we move in it. The way we live from day to day, and from generation to generation in this country reflects our resilient mentality. The Netherlands from above season 2 tells us the story of seeing and taking opportunities, falling and rising up again, reinventing the wheel again and again. Where the first series was an ode to the makeable Netherlands, this second series is an ode to our resilience.

Places to see in ( Essen - Germany ) Thyssen Krupp Hauptquartier
Places to see in ( Essen - Germany ) Thyssen Krupp Hauptquartier
The ThyssenKrupp headquarters is the corporate headquarters of ThyssenKrupp AG in the western district of the city of Essen . The district is the core of the urban development project Krupp-Gürtel and is exactly on the ground on which Krupp has its roots with the cast steel factory in Essen. The costs for the first construction phase of the headquarters are estimated at over 300 million euros.
The new building in Essen, and thus the concentration on the administrative locations Essen and Duisburg, was decided in 2006. The first symbolic groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 12, 2007. The laying of the foundation stone followed on 5 September 2008 in the presence of two honorary chairmen on the Supervisory Board of Thyssenkrupp AG, Berthold Beitz and Günter Vogelsang, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Gerhard Cromme , then Lord Mayor Wolfgang Reiniger and the architects Philippe Chaix and Jürgen Steffens. The architecture is by Chaix & Morel et Associees and JSWD architects that the advertised ThyssenKrupp 2006 architectural competition [1]won. On July 17, 2009 followed the topping-out ceremony. In the center of the Krupp belt, Thyssenkrupp has relocated a large part of the administrative building with more than 100,000 square meters of building space, thus relocating the administrative center from Düsseldorf to Essen. On June 17, 2010, the headquarters in the presence of the chairman of the board of trustees of Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach Foundation Berthold Beitz, the Prime Minister Jürgen Rüttgers , the chairman of the Supervisory Board Gerhard Cromme and the Lord Mayor of Essen Reinhard Passofficially opened. The jobs of more than 2,000 employees from Bochum, Duisburg and, in particular, Düsseldorf were relocated to Essen. The employees started work since June 21, 2010. Most came from the Düsseldorfer Dreischeibenhaus , the former corporate headquarters, which had been vacant since the end of June 2010.
Approximately 500 employees of the Group top are housed in the building Q1 , a goal-like, 50 meters high and central building with 14 floors, through which one can look through thanks to the glass facade. The commissioned Stuttgart engineering firm Werner Sobek entered new technical territory with this building , as the glass wall neither stands nor hangs, but was stretched vertically and horizontally like a tennis racket. The 25.6 x 28.1 meter glass façades are subdivided into 96 white glass panes and yield up to half a meter under wind load. The in three layers (12 mm safety glass, 16 mm free space, 2 times 8 mm laminated safety glass with a 1.52 mm PVB-Sonnenschutz film) constructed, with each other interconnected silicone single discs have a weight of about 500 kilograms. Thanks to the vertical tension of 1770 N / mm², even heavy impacts are absorbed. The necessary edge bond is also less than half a meter. Despite the large glass surface, the building was awarded the Gold Seal of Approval by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB eV), as its energy consumption is less than 150 kilowatt hours per square meter per year. This corresponds to about half of the average consumption of modern office towers.
From the beginning, four further buildings, called Q2 , Q4 , Q5 and Q7 , as well as a parking garage were built. In Q2 there is a conference center for up to 1000 people as well as the catering for employees and guests. Q5 and Q7 have offices for 220 and 300 employees, respectively. In front of the central building Q1 is a 4800 square meter water axis, which is spanned by several connecting bridges between the individual buildings. On the occasion of the European Green Capital - Essen 2017 , an urban gardening project was opened on June 1, 2017 , in which the water in the basins was drained and filled with sand, gravel and earth. Citizens, including kindergarten groups and school classes, can plant vegetables or sit on seating and at a barbecue area. Similarly, a volleyball field is created. In September 2017, the water axis will be returned to normal and filled with water.
( Essen - Germany ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Essen . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Essen - Germany
