Haaldersbroek a typical Dutch hamlet / Haaldersbroek de parel van Zaanstad
Zaanse green wooden houses, water and drawbridges and rest ...
I find it great every time to walk around in the beautiful hamlet Haaldersbroek.
On each visit I make a lot of pictures s. This time I filmed and I'm very happy with the end result. In the film, I have some detailed pictures processed.
It is the Zaanse Schans in real life but without windmills and tourists.
If you don`t know where the hamlet is .. you will find it difficult because it is nowhere indicated.
It is opposite the entrance to the Zaanse Schans, but is hidden behind factory buildings.
Haaldersbroek consists of two streets. You will certainly not get lost ....
Haaldersbroek is a hamlet in the municipality of Zaanstad, next to the Zaanse Schans.
The population hovers around 130 inhabitants. Haaldersbroek has two streets that are largely free of cars.
The core is a conservation area and is a beautiful Dutch picture with drawbridges and a pair of old green Zaanse houses.
Haaldersbroek been for a long time been a Catholic enclave. In 1730 there was a secret Catholic church which existed until 1887.
In the middle of the 20th century there was the plan for expanding Haaldersbroek to a large housing estate. Before 1956 there was a high school built. This was built east of the core Haaldersbroek. after the school had been built, the new plan to move across the water.
Instead of the new district was created east of Haaldersbroek, between 1961 and 1974, the neighborhood of the Zaanse Schans.

Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Zaandam
The Inntel Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam is situated at an absolute prime location near the train station in the historic city of Zaandam. The train takes you to Amsterdam Central Station in only 12 minutes and to Schiphol Airport in 16 minutes. This hotel offers all the comfort one might expect of a 4-star hotel. The Inntel Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam is a great place to stay if you want to pay a cultural visit to the province of Noord-Holland. The city centre of Amsterdam, with its canals and renowned museums is easily accessible. The RAI Conference and Exhibition Centre can be reached within 25 minutes by car or by public transport. But you should also not forget to visit Volendam, the 'Zaanse Schans' and the cheese market in Alkmaar. Within walking distance you will find the local shopping centre and the 'Zaanse Dam' , where you can relax on one of the outside terraces. At the 'Zaanse Dam' there is a statue of Czar Peter the Great. In the 17th century he lived in Zaanstad for a while to learn the tricks of the trade of Dutch ship building. You can still visit the 'Czaar Peter house', where he used to live.

Zaanse Schans, Amsterdam - Traditional Dutch Village & Windmills!
This video was taken on our recent break in Amsterdam, December 2016.
We wanted to see Windmills so googled it and this place came up - Zaanse Schans.
It's a traditional Dutch village complete with aforementioned Windmills. Really nice day out, about 40 mins bus ride from Central Station and cost 10 euros per person return. No fee to get into the village.
Very picturesque and lots of good photo opportunities. Gets you away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam City Centre.
