Akersloot is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Castricum, and lies about 9 km south of Alkmaar. Until 1 January 2002, Akersloot was a separate municipality. In 2001, the town of Akersloot had 4347 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.81 km², and contained 1657 residences. The wider statistical area of Akersloot has a population of around 5080. This includes the hamlets Starting and Klein Dorregeest south of Akersloot, and Boekel to the north.
