Just a few short months into Donald Trump's reign, Canada was already saying that, “In the event of a mass exodus of American citizens, Canada will always be a hospitable country.” Of course, the Great White North isn’t all sunshine and sparkles. So here are the Top 5 Canadian cities you’re going to want to avoid.
At Number 5. Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario
If you're fleeing the States to avoid the tidal wave of racial abuse, best avoid Canada’s hate crime capital, Kitchener-Waterloo. Verbal and physical attacks on minority ethnic, religious, and LGBT communities happen here on a higher per capita rate than anywhere else in the country.
Number 4. Miramichi, New Brunswick
The city of Miramichi however, banded together to craft a symbol of the town’s growing support for the LGBT community. Shortly afterwards, the stamps were defaced twice. What’s more, residents have responded with outright homophobia.
Number 3. Sarnia, Ontario
This might look like a boring little town, with a decent cost of living and good enough schools. That's if you ignore the fact that the view is densely populated with pollution-spewing factories. Also, ecumenic stagnation has caused Sarnia’s downtown area to become a ghost town.
Number 2. Saint John, New Brunswick
Saint John is very close to an idyllic little town of resplendent natural beauty named St. John’s. So unless you want to work in a paper mill or a nuclear power plant, you should definitely shoot for St. John’s NOT St. John.

Did you know people still mine asbestos? It’s got to come from somewhere; at least, that’s the philosophy in Thetford Mines, a place so dedicated to extracting the exceptionally unhealthy substance that they named the town after it.

Hola y bienvenidos a Madrid. This week we are in the Spanish capital and we are going to show you twenty five of the best things to do in the city.
Final thoughts on your time in Madrid. Well, I really enjoyed the city. And I really found that it is super walk-able. We were here for 10 days and we hardly had to take the metro at all. We just took the bus once when we were visiting the stadium but the rest of the time we were able to walk wherever we needed to go. And also I think it is a great city for art lovers. There are so many galleries and museums to check out. And a lot of them are free in the evening. So keep that in mind.
And now it is your turn. What did you think of Madrid? You know what? I absolutely loved Madrid. It is a city that just really clicked with me. We have a lot of friends that are living here long term and prior to coming here I had no idea like why would someone want to come to Madrid? Now I totally get it. I love the culture, I love the food, I love the nightlife. Everything is really cheap. I go to the grocery store and I can get a one liter thing of wine for just over a Euro. It is just a really affordable fun city to be in. And it is somewhere I hope I have a chance to come back to again soon.

Madrid to Valencia Train Ride | Spain Travel Vlog
Join us for a Spain travel vlog as we highlight our train ride from Madrid to Valencia while also giving you a full tour of our apartment in Madrid. With just a short time in Madrid we reluctantly said goodbye to our apartment which was by far the best one we've had to date on this trip in Europe. It was in a great location, was very spacious, had lots of character and most importantly had central heating in the heart of winter which meant we were toasty warm:

Upon arriving at Madrid Atocha railway station we quickly grabbed some sandwiches and empanadas for the journey. One thing to keep in mind is that prices were really high near the departures section and considerably cheaper at the far end of the station.
Given this was our first train ride in Europe we were all excited to be taking the train as opposed to being on another bus. Alta Velocidad Española (AVE) is a high speed train that allows you to travel from Madrid to Valencia in just an hour and a half. It tops out at around 300 km during some sections of the ride.
Upon arriving in Valencia we just grabbed a do-it-yourself meal of kebabs, pastries and red wine. We took a little stroll around Valencia afterwards but ended up calling it a day because it started raining. Overall, we're thrilled to be in Valencia and can't wait to explore more on future episodes.

Madrid to Valencia Train Ride + Madrid Apartment Tour | Spain Travel Vlog Video Transcript:
Good morning guys. Time for another travel day. We didn't have much time in Madrid. It was one of the shortest stays we're going to have on this entire trip in Europe. We just had 4 nights but we arrived really late on the first night. So it was basically just 3 days. Time just flew by. We had so much to do and see and yeah we're already hitting the road again. But the good news for at least for us is that we have a shorter travel day today.
Yes, an hour and a half. A little over an hour and a half I believe. We are going to Valencia and we are going on the high speed train I think. Yeah, it is going to be exciting. It is our first train ride on this trip in Europe so yeah we're hoping to be doing more train travel in Italy but our first train ride in Spain.
Okay so before we check out of the apartment in Madrid we're going to give you guys a little as usual.
Yeah, we really liked the apartment. It has a nice big bed. Lots of space. Drawers. And yeah this was this like this apartment scores so highly in so many different ways. Like for first everything that should be working was. Especially in the winter. Having heat was just incredible after being cold in the 1st two Portugal apartments.
The other thing too that was great about this place was the location right? Very central. It was a nice neighborhood and it was really close to what was it Opera Station?
That concludes the apartment tour. We're all packed up now. We're just going to have a quick snack and then it is off to the train station. And wait until you see this train station. I think it is the most beautiful in all of Europe.
Here is to our first train ride in Europe. Salut. Not only train ride. Fast speed. Highs speed train ride. It has got up to 230 km now. I haven't checked for a while but it might even be faster. And we've got wine. Cheers. Our trip is only an hour and a half. We'll be there before we know it. This this kind of train is a high performance gazelle.
So we made it to Valencia, Spain. We're having kebabs for dinner and we'll see you guys in the next episode.

Uruguay is emerging as one of South America’s favorite destinations. Its capital Montevideo has a warm, temperate climate, pleasant sea breezes and miles of boulevards.
From Montevideo’s Telecommunications Tower you can see the hill that gave the city its name.
Another tower, the Palacio Salvo looms high above the Plaza Independencia in the City Center. Under this square is the mausoleum for the country’s revolutionary hero José Artigas.
Nearby Plaza Matriz is the city’s oldest square and home to the 18th-century Metropolitan Cathedral, the focal point of Uruguay’s Old Town.
Soccer is big here and in 1930 Uruguay hosted and won the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Estadio Centenario.
Another proud local tradition is “parrilla and the best way to try it is to buy cuts of meat in the Mercado del Puerto, and have those cooked for you on the spot.
The 19-mile long promenade, La Rambla leads to the city’s favorite playground: De Los Pocitos Beach.
To the west along the river is the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Colonia del Sacramento, with its landmark lighthouse, sleepy Plaza de Armas, historic Portón de Campo and atmospheric Street of Sighs.
To the east of Montevideo, if you follow the coast, is Piriápolis. This beach resort offers great views from its hilltop San Antonio Temple.
The next highlight on this road trip is the lighthouse of La Paloma on the Cabo de Santa María peninsula.
On your way to the lighthouse of Punta del Este, don’t miss eccentric Casapueblo, a wonderful hotel and art gallery designed by local artist Carlos Páez Vilaró in Punta Ballena.
Uruguay may be small, but its big heart and relaxing vibe create a lifetime of memories.
