Colorado - United States
Colorado is a U.S. state that encompasses most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. Colorado is part of the Western United States, the Southwestern United States, and the Mountain States. Colorado is the 8th most extensive and the 22nd most populous of the 50 United States. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Colorado was 5,187,582 on July 1, 2012, an increase of +3.15% since the 2010 United States Census.
The state was named for the Colorado River, which early Spanish explorers named the Río Colorado for the red colored silt the river carried from the mountains. On August 1, 1876, U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant signed a proclamation admitting Colorado as the 38th state. Colorado is nicknamed the Centennial State because it was admitted to the Union in 1876, the centennial year of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Colorado is bordered by the northwest state of Wyoming to the north, the midwest states of Nebraska and Kansas to the northeast and east, on the south by New Mexico and a small portion of the southwestern state of Oklahoma, on the west by Utah, and Arizona to the southwest. The four states of Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah meet at one common point known as the Four Corners, which is known as the heart of the American Southwest. Colorado is noted for its vivid landscape of mountains, forests, high plains, mesas, canyons, plateaus, rivers, and desert lands.
Colorado is a state in the united states and it's capital is denver.
Denver is the capital and the most populous city of Colorado. Residents of the state are properly known as Coloradans, although the term Coloradoan is still used. ( Wikipedia )

Lake Tahoe Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia (4K)
Filled with over 39 trillion gallons of pure Sierra snowmelt and pushed a mile into the Californian and Nevada skies, Lake Tahoe is the USA’s largest alpine lake and one of the country’s oldest, year-round vacation playgrounds.
Lake Tahoe has forever drawn travellers to its shores, from the Native Americans who call this place Big Water, to the trappers, timber cutters and pioneers who followed.
When you’re ready for a little alpine magic, take the four-hour drive from San Francisco to the sunlit shores of Kings Beach. Set on Tahoe’s northern end, this beach was named after local card shark, Joe King, who used his winnings to develop some of the lake’s earliest lodgings. On the lake’s southern shore, is Pope Beach, where you’ll find another Tahoe institution, Camp Richardson.
From Pope Beach follow the bike path to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. An open-air classroom for the entire family, the center features fabulous interpretative walks such as the Rainbow Trail.
Nearby, at DL Bliss State Park, follow the spectacular Rubicon Trail into neighboring Emerald Bay State Park. This park is home to the Eagle Falls Trail, a moderate two-mile hike that takes in some of the Sierra high country’s finest views.
When the ponderosa pines bend with the season’s first snow, Tahoe transforms into the nation’s favorite winter playground. Whether you’re looking for snow-capped peaks or crystal clear coves, places to bond with loved ones or pockets of pure solitude, The Lake in the Sky has it all.
Driving from Salina, KS to Denver, CO via I70
I made it almost half way across Kansas last evening, and then a good night sleep in Salina, but Kansas is one wide state, so still have a long way to go to make it to Denver and Boulder Colorado. Feeling good. Looking forward to seeing the Rockies!!!

My Sony HXR-NX100 rode shotgun on a tripod shooting at 4 fps. The tripod was held in place using bungee cords giving it I nice smooth feel, even on bumpy roads. I also used this same camera to shoot various scenes around the country, and to interview folks.

Driving Colorado I-70 Glenwood Canyon, Eisenhower Tunnel Ultrawide 21:9 1080p (2560x1080)
Glenwood Canyon is a rugged scenic 12.5 mi canyon on the Colorado River in western Colorado in the United States. Its walls climb as high as 1,300 feet above the Colorado River. It is the largest such canyon on the Upper Colorado. Interstate 70 final link project is the crown jewel of CDOT. Thanks to the dedication of visionary designers, project managers, engineers, construction workers, landscapers and others, the Glenwood Canyon that travelers drive through today is a smooth, safe and stunning engineering showpiece with extraordinary attractions of its own.
Glenwood Canyon was honored for its accomplishments in planning, context-sensitive design, management and construction and won more than 30 awards, including the 1993 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
One of the biggest challenges the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) faced was how to squeeze a four-lane freeway into a gorge barely wide enough to accommodate the existing two-lane highway with minimal impact to the environment. CDOT's solution was clever: construct two roadways, one nearly on top of the other. The final design features an elevated roadway including 40 bridges and viaducts spanning more than six miles between sections.
Upper deck is closed for construction and both traffic on lower deck. Apologies for the smudge at the center of the windshield.

Colorado Springs
In this episode of Cheap Family Travel, ( Nick, Regan, Maggie, and Kate made the short drive from Denver to Colorado Springs, Colorado, home of the Garden of the Gods and the United States Air Force Academy. We started out by taking the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak, one of many 14,000-foot mountains in the Colorado Rockies and the inspiration of America the Beautiful. Other fun things to do in Colorado Springs are visiting the U.S. Olympic Training Complex and whitewater rafting in Colorado Springs. The Garden of the Gods is an amazing park of beautiful rock and tree formations, with trails for driving, cycling, or hiking. We were impressed by the U.S. Air Force Academy, where enlisted men and women were arriving for the opening day of their stay. The Air Force Chapel is amazing with its huge windows facing the Rocky Mountains. A highlight for us was rafting on the Arkansas River with Wilderness Aware in nearby Buena Vista. Colorado Springs is a beautiful city, well worth visiting.
