Located in Rockland and Orange counties 30 miles (48 km) north of New York City, it is a haven for hikers with over 200 miles (320 km) of hiking trails. The park is also known for its 31 lakes, multiple streams, public camping area, and great vistas.
I started from Suffern, NY with Suffern-Bear Mountain trail. Went all the way till egg shelter, and then brushed through Pine Meadow lake following the Pine Meadow Trail. Merged into Kakiat Trail following the water streams to the Woods on the same trail after Seven Lakes Drive. Merged into Blue Disc for the higher elevation and then got out to Tuxedo via Tuxed Mt Ivy and Ramapo Dunderburg Trails.
