Fort Montgomery on Lake Champlain is the second of two American forts built at the northernmost point of the American part of the lake: a first, unnamed fort built on the same site in 1816 and Fort Montgomery built in 1844. The Walkway over the Hudson is a steel cantilever bridge spanning the Hudson River between Poughkeepsie, New York, on the east bank and Highland, New York, on the west bank. Built as a double track railroad bridge, it was completed on January 1, 1889, and formed part of the Maybrook Railroad Line of the New Haven Railroad. It was taken out of service on May 8, 1974, after it was damaged by fire. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, and its entry updated in 2008. It was reopened on October 3, 2009 as a pedestrian walkway as part of the new Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.

Wood Creek- Looking For Colonial Treasure In Upstate NY

Myself and fellow treasure hunter David Dittler doing a quick recon of an upstate New York colonial era water route where we are planning a future treasure hunt.
This was filmed very close to the historic Oak Orchard site.
The Wood Creek is definitely for the full contact treasure hunter & I am almost positive this is a place to find something truly historic.

A canoe & waterproof metal Detector is a must and you will need to portage so be ready.
This area is best hunted during the dead of summer.
