5 Things American Tourists Shouldn't Wear in Europe
Please Note: Young People Wear Many of These Styles Throughout Europe. These tips are geared toward 35+ year old travelers. Thanks for watching!

Heading to Europe & Not Sure What to Pack? Here are a few things that my fellow US travelers may want to avoid packing if they are traveling to Europe.
1. Baseball Caps: Europeans in general do not wear baseball caps, especially backwards. You would be better served to wear a more traditional hat. You will see an occasional NY Yankee hat, but why not buy the fancy hat you always wanted instead?
2. Athletic Wear: Europeans tend to wear athletic wear to do sports, not to wear around town. There is a trend of more athleisurewear in Europe, but it is not to the extent that there is in US.
3. Khakis: the omnipresent US male pant choice is not something you will see too often in Europe. Go for colored pants or jeans. If you want khaki like pants wear Chinos instead of Dockers. The pants you will see are a thinner cut or skinnier fit than in the US.
4. Oversized US University Sweatshirts.
5. Sport Shoes or High Heals: US sport shoes and white socks are not quite as popular in Europe as they are in the US. You may be better off with Urban Street shoes like Vans instead. Also, women should be careful with high heels as with all the cobblestone it is easy to hurt your ankles.

French women don't get fat. Parisians love affair with bio, scenes from Marché Raspail.
Many Parisians abstain from buying fresh produce, cheese, meat and fish from their corner supermarket, and for good reason. That's because there are traditional Paris food markets in every neighborhood. Market products are often fresher, more flavorful, and less expensive than supermarket counterparts. It can also be a lot more environmentally friendly since the fresh fruit and produce in particular tends to come from local farms. If you’re looking to go “bio”, or organic, in Paris, there are several options for certified organic shopping. The open air market Marché Raspail on the Left Bank is quite popular. Raspail puts on a lively show, drawing crowds of chic Left Bank residents every Sunday (including Jane Birkin and her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg). The market is exclusively organic, with everything from fruits and vegetables to meats and cheeses all cultivated respecting traditional and natural methods. Fresh food, fresh, fun atmosphere, and a great place to mingle...As the gentleman at the end says La vie est belle!

French women don't get fat; don't count calories, fat content, or carbs.
The French are thinner than Americans and have excellent cardiac health despite a diet high in fats and red meat and low on so-called diet foods. Once you find out why French women don't get fat, as asserted by the best-selling book by Mireille Guiliano, it's easy to import their methods to your own kitchen. The French follow a Mediterranean diet, rich in fish, fruit, vegetable oils, full-fat dairy and unprocessed foods. Their health-conscious diet is dominated by neither quinoa nor green juice. The magic of the French diet is they still eat whole foods and eat more vegetables and fruits than we do. Yes, real food. Not fat free cheese. You feel more satiated when you eat this way. And they probably eat less. The French also have no American guilt when it comes to eating; that idea where we are constantly counting calories, fat content, and carbs; and all the while, left feeling unsatisfied. There is not one way of eating, but in most of the dietary patterns, the pleasure and conviviality and social dimension of diet remains really strong in France. I shot this video at a traditional food market in Deauville, Normandy. Enjoy watching the locals shop for fresh fish, seashells, poultry, cheese, fruit, vegetables, spices, honey, olives, cured ham…anything fresh and tempting.
