Located in Tuscany, is not a resort: it's the biggest spa-town in Italy. Here tourism is the main activity: every year 200 hotels sell 2 million overnight-stays for travelers who want to see the city amenities and to take short trips to the nearby art-cities: Lucca, Florence, Pisa, Siena... all easily reachable by bus or by train (2 train stations: Montecatini Terme-Monsummano and Montecatini Centro).
The spas, the Golf Club, the funicolar Funicolare, markets, theatres, many restaurants and night clubs make a glad vacation in Montecatini. Concerts, fairs, ballrooms, art exhibitions and festivals attracts the local (21000 inhabitants) and the tourist in a well organized and a pleasant agenda.
After the belle-epoque growth, now the spas offer not only the well-known healing waters but also all the modern relax treatments.

Montecatini Terme è una località che permette di vivere, in una stessa vacanza esperienze diverse. E' il luogo della tranquillità e del relax grazie ai suoi parchi termali e ai suoi spazi verdi centenari. E' la città dell'arte antica e dell'architettura del passato, ma anche del design moderno, delle costruzioni avveniristiche che si trovano nel suo centro storico.
Il simbolo di Montecatini è rappresentato dal suo parco termale ricco di stabilimenti, tra cui spicca il Tettuccio, la più celebre struttura termale della città per via delle sue nobili architetture. Il Parco vanta delle dimensioni assolutamente enormi: si estende per ben 420mila metri quadrati all'interno del quale ci si può dilettare in terapie benefiche e salutari per la mente e il corpo. Lo stabilimento Tettuccio è uno dei più famosi e le sue doti salutari sono note fin dal lontano 14esimo secolo. La bellezza dell'edificio sta, oltre che nella sua architettura, nella sua posizione: si trova immerso in un parco verde, circondato da pini, tigli, cedri, palme e sequoie. Sopra l'edificio sgorga una fonte la cui acqua viene raccolta in una piscina secondo un mirabile progetto architettonico. Da ammirare anche l'Excelsior, con i suoi richiami che variano dal liberty al rococò passando per il barocco.
Montecatini Alto è una frazione di Montecatini Terme, raggiungibile anche con la funicolare. Si tratta di un borgo antico, con origini antecedenti all'anno 1000. Solo il viaggio in funicolare di per sé merita: questo mezzo di trasporto ha infatti mantenuto le belle sembianze di quando fu realizzato nel 1800, con le carrozze con gli interni in legno. Questo borgo è assolutamente favoloso e una visita è consigliata dato che rappresenta quello che potrebbe essere definito il centro storico di Montecatini Terme, il luogo che raccoglie le memorie del passato e che esprime il legame tra l'antico e il moderno.
Tante sono le attrazioni che vale la pena di visitare: si parte con le costruzioni religiose, assolutamente degne di nota. Tra queste si menziona la Chiesa e il convento di Santa Maria a Ripa, costruzioni in stile romanico del 12esimo secolo; la Chiesa di San Pietro Apostolo dell'11esimo secolo con la sua fonte battesimale di marmo bianco e la serie di affreschi importanti e famosi; e la Chiesa realizzata dai Padri Carmelitani chiamata dei Santi Iacopo e Filippo (e conosciuta anche come Chiesa del Carmine). E ancora la Chiesa di Santa Margherita e il convento omonimo (oggi trasformato in una casa di Riposo) e la Cappellina di piazza, realizzata all'interno della torre Tavarnelli. Oltre alle costruzioni religiose è possibile ammirare i resti delle antiche mura che difendevano Montecatini: l'unica parte rimasta in piedi è la porta di Borgo.
Antichi edifici si trovano poi in ogni angolo, come il Palazzo di Giustizia con gli stemmi sulla facciata principale e il Palazzo Podestarile, un tempo residenza del Podestà. Sulla collina si trovano poi la Rocche, tra cui spicca la Rocca del Castello Vecchio (chiamata anche Rocca Tramontana) e la Rocca del Carmine o di Castelnuovo e le torri medievali.
Da non perdere poi l'occasione di esplorare i dintorni di Montecatini Terme: dalle grandi città come Pisa, Siena e Firenze ai piccoli incantevoli borghi, come Pescia e Borgo a Buggiano che vi offrono la possibilità di essere immersi in un'atmosfera medievale indimenticabile con piccoli scorci e strade tipiche o luoghi naturali affascinanti come il Padule di Fucecchio.

As we take what you’ve learned in Tuscany back to your businesses, staff members, and clients, we encourage you to remain in touch with that passion that led you to adventure travel in the first place. Let it be a guiding light, and don’t forget those moments during the Summit when you returned to your source, your personal wellspring. There may be no easy answers — no single conversation, no “aha” moment. But we can rest assured knowing what happens when community comes together in a powerful way for a single week in Montecatini Terme, Tuscany.

Primavera en Canadá | Un Típico Fin de Semana en Casa
Finalmente llegó la primavera a Canadá y en este video les mostramos como es un típico fin de semana por estas partes. Teníamos varios trabajitos que hacer por la casa así que no hubo mucho descanso, pero así es cuando uno pasa de invierno a primavera. Les mostramos el nuevo deck que construimos en el patio con Home Renovision DIY, donde llevamos a Togo cuando necesita un baño, como cambiamos las ruedas de invierno por las de verano, y otros trabajitos que hay que hacer por la casa. También respondemos la gran pregunta que muchos nos hacen cuando filmamos en nuestro vecindario, ¿por qué no hay gente en la calle? En fin, un video un poco inusual, pero ya regresamos pronto con más videos de cocina.

Places to see in ( Vicenza - Italy ) Torre Bissara
The Torre Bissara , also known as Torre di Piazza , is a civic tower that overlooks Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza , flanking the famous Basilica Palladiana . With its 82 meters it is one of the tallest buildings in the city. The first news dates back to 1174 when the tower was built, at the behest of the Bissari family , next to their building. Between 1211 and 1229 the municipality of Vicenza bought both the building (with the intention of making it the seat of the podestà ) and the tower. Escaped from the terrible earthquake of 25 January 1348 , it was elevated towards the middle of the fifteenth century reaching the current height. Inside were relics of saints and the five bells. There were numerous interventions that, over the centuries, followed one another to maintain the stability and beauty of the tower. At the base there was a triumphal arch with the war memorial, surmounted by a coat of arms and the sculptural group of the crowned Madonna, enthroned with the child and two saints. The marble bas-relief of the Lion of San Marco is placed a little higher up. On the sides there are commemorative plaques and in a niche there is a headless painting by Pallas Athena, perhaps from the Roman era.
On March 18, 1945, the tower (together with the Basilica Palladiana) was hit by an Anglo-American bombardment . The top of the tower burned and the dome fell to the ground; so the tower presented itself to the Vicentini, the next day, cut off. The bells were also detached, destroying themselves on the pavement of the square. Together with the Basilica in the following years the tower was rebuilt, not without controversy concerning the form, partly different from the original one. Not all the bells were also replaced so that the sphere indicating the lunar phases that was placed under the watch was not replaced.
In 2002 the project for a radical conservative restoration of the tower was approved. The intervention moved in two directions: a part concerning static consolidation (a problem always present in Vicenza given the rich presence of water in the subsoil), another concerning the restoration of surfaces, friezes and decorations. The dial has been painted cobalt blue (as it was originally thought), the sphere of the lunar phases has been repositioned (thanks to the donation of a well-known jewelery) and the bells have been repositioned (donated by the Rotary Club Vicenza Berici).
In addition to the normal sound of the hours and mid-hours, the characteristic of the tower is also the ninth hour. This is a particular melody composed by Maestro Valtinoni (restored only in 2005 ) that you hear playing seven minutes before midday and seven minutes before eighteen (originally in place of 18 played at 24). The main bell , in tone of Mi , was made in 1663 by the founder Cristoforo Murari.
