Visit Austria (Tirol) - Tyrol Travel Guide to Alpbachtal Video Transcript:
Today we’re showing you around one of the most picturesque corners in all of Austria: the Alpbachtal Valley located in Tyrol. This was our first time visiting Austria and I don’t think we could have chosen a better place to start. While we only had 3 days in this region, we managed to pack lots of time in the mountains, sample the local cuisine and befriend more than one cow along the way. The following is our mini-travel guide to Alpbachtal:
After getting settled into our farmhouse it was time for lunch and boy were we hungry. We drove to Brandenberg where we ate at Kaiserhaus, a restaurant and guesthouse tucked out in nature.
Tyrolean Food at Kaiserhaus Gasthof - Seeing as this was our first day in Tyrol, we wanted to sample some Tyrolean food including gamey meats and noodle dishes.
Hiking the Kaiserklamm - This was a really nice walk that followed the course of the river and took us over a series of bridges and tunnels. We sure enjoyed the scenery.
After that we returned back to our town of Reith im Alpbachtal, where we had some more hearty Tyrolean food and listened to a bit of live music.
On day 2, we lucked out with clear blue skies, so after having breakfast in our farmhouse, we drove to the town of Alpbach. Here we got quick e-biking lesson, and set off to tackle the Alps in style.
It wasn’t long before we left the town behind and found ourselves in the middle of nature. We rode up valleys, over streams, through forests, and tackled some pretty steep inclines along the way, but as you can see, the scenery was stunning.
We drove to the nearby village of Kramsach, where we stopped off for - you guessed it - more food! We were famished after all that biking, and we didn’t hold back. We plopped ourselves down at Rohrerhof, where we proceeded to order cappuccinos, massive dessert platters and schnapps. The next attraction: the Tyrolean Farmhouse Museum,
Gondola ride to Wiedersbergerhorn - After a leisurely walk and enjoying the impressive views, something else caught our attention - a mountaintop restaurant with an outdoor terrace!
Almatrieb Cows Come Home Parade - By noon, the festivities were in full swing. But it wasn’t all about cows. There were also craft demonstrations, food stalls, and lots of bands playing for jovial crowds who created their own dance floors.
That sums up our trip to the Alpbachtal Valley in Tyrol - cows, mountains and a whole bunch of delicious food. See you next time in Vienna (Wien).
This is part of our Travel in Austria video series showcasing Austrian food, Austrian culture and Austrian cuisine.

Milan - Italy Travel Guide, Vacation
Milan is a temple to high fashion, home of Armani and Versace, and naturally sure to delight the high priests and priestesses of style.
Key areas:
Top of the list for fashion lovers in Milan is the Quadrilatero d'Oro (Golden Quad), formed by Via Montenapoleone, Via Sant'Andrea, Via Monzani and Via della Spiga. Names such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada, Valentino and Versace read like an ABC of Italian chic.
If you don't fancy venturing inside such hallowed ground as Versace's four floors of couture, you can stick to window-shopping paradise on Via della Spiga, where traffic is banned. L'Armadio de Laura, Via Voghera 25, has some fine offbeat thrift and end-of-season returns.
Antique fairs are popular at the weekends around the Naviglio Grande, while the pedestrian Via Fiori Chiari is a particularly pleasant spot for browsing galleries, with a number of good cafés along the way.
Markets:
For those who prefer the bustle of street markets, Viale Papiniano (metro San Agostino) is open all day Saturday, while Via Zivetti (metro Centrale FS) is open on Wednesday mornings. The flea market, Fiera di Senigallia, takes place along the Darsena basin on Saturdays (0830-1700).
Shopping centres:
Another key shopping spot is the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a glass-roofed arcade which originally opened in 1867, and is one of the oldest shopping malls in the world. A vast Belle Epoque shopping arcade, it was built to link the Piazza del Duomo to the Piazza della Scala and soon became Milan's conservatory. Winter and summer, Milanese can be seen here, escaping the rain, browsing the exclusive shops and sipping Campari and soda in the bars. Prada's flagship store has been in business here since 1913, joined more recently by Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
The outlet malls is where you'll pick up hefty discounts: try Il Salvagente and the Dmagazine Outlet.
Opening hours:
Most shops open 0930-1230 and 1530-1930 Tuesday to Sunday, although the bigger stores stay open all day. Most shops close on Sunday and reopen on Monday afternoon from about 1530-1930, except food stores, which reopen on Monday morning but close again for the afternoon. However, many shops open daily during the Christmas season and major bookshops are open until 2300. Many shops close for most of August.
Souvenirs:
If you can't afford high fashion, opt for smaller leather items such as gloves, shoes, wallets, belts and purses. Other popular buys include olive oil, wines, cheese, balsamic vinegar and biscotti.
Tax information:
Value added tax is 21%. Non-EU citizens can reclaim VAT on their larger purchases totalling over €154.94 from a single shop displaying a 'tax-free shopping' sign and in duty free shops. There's also a tax-free centre in the basement of La Rinascente department store, where you can get your cash back before leaving the country. However, you'll still have to queue to clear documents at the airport.

Milan: City of amazing History, Center Of Fashion, Art From Dreams, Experience The Milan
One of the world’s fashion capitals, Milan offers endless opportunities for chic shopping. Hit the artsy neighborhood of Brera for leather goods and Via Monte Napoleone for exclusive, expensive boutiques. The enchanting mosaics and glass vaults of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II make shoppers feel like they’re wandering inside a painting. Take break from your spree to gape at the iconic Duomo, then grab tickets to a performance at La Scala. Post-opera, the Navigli district pulses with late-night activity.
This video tour includes the:
Piazza Duomo - Located in the very heart of the city, the famed Duomo is one of the largest Gothic churches in Italy. Its highest spire is dominated by a golden statue of the Virgin Mary, affectionately known as the 'Madonnina,' the protector of Milan. The most precious relic on display inside is the True Cross, believed to belong to Jesus when he was crucified. Weather permitting, visit the rooftop to gaze at an amazing view of Milan and its courtyards - a great photo opportunity. There you will have your own personal photo of amazing site.
Teatro La Scala - While the Opera House facade is not that impressive, the luxury interiors are breathtaking. If you like Opera and Ballet, this could also be the ideal occasion to enjoy a performance and test the sound quality of the acoustic system. Otherwise, you can glimpse the auditorium from the boxes by taking a tour of the theater's museum, as long as rehearsals are not taking place. Just like from the movies.
Brera District -To the left side of Teatro alla Scala Opera House, you'll find Giuseppe Verdi road, a street lined with antique shops and stores selling professional products for fine arts. Follow this to the pretty neighborhood of Brera, with its narrow streets, cute chops, and tasty restaurants.
Via Fiori Chiari, one of the most iconic streets here, is full of good restaurants. Brera is also famous for Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan's main art gallery which houses beautiful paintings of the Lombard and Venetian schools. The most famous of these include Caravaggio's 'Supper at Emmaus', 'The Kiss' by Hayez and 'The Montefeltro Altarpiece' by the Italian Renaissance artist, Piero della Francesca.
Sforza Castle -v built in the XV century by Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan. Today the impressive structure is home to several museums, including the Egyptian museum and the Museum of Ancient Art, which features Michelangelo’s final (and unfinished) sculpture, Rondanini Pietà. Sempione park, the biggest green area in Milan if you have time you must visit this calm and peaceful area. Continue walking until you reach the Arch of Peace, the triumphal arch and a sort of virtual gate to Sempione Street.
And of course, since the city is a centre of worlds fashion, I have put a glimpse into the fashion week, not too much since I prefer to present to you the city itself.
Hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
