NARROW STREETS OF QUEBEC CITY, CANADA
If you happen to come to Quebec City by car, your own or rental, you MUST find and drive on their famous very narrow residential streets located near the Old Quebec City, one of the main tourist attractions of this VERY exotic city. Also couple of other very narrow streets in the very same area but not accessible by car, so for pedestrians only. The other place in North America I can recall with similar very narrow streets is the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. So what these two places, Quebec City and New Orleans, have in common: French Culture.
For a summer vacation, I strongly recommend everybody visiting Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

Time Lapse Drive: Québec City, Québec to Moncton, New Brunswick
July 3, 2017 - Today features the longest single day's worth of driving on this entire journey. Starting in the beautiful capital city of Québec - also called Québec (City), I head eastward along the world-famous Trans-Canada Highway to the city of Moncton, in the southeast corner of New Brunswick.
It turned out to be a very scenic drive! For the first few hours as I drive through the Québec countryside, I'm never more than 5 kilometres away from the ever-widening Saint Lawrence River. Turning inland at Riviére-du-Loup, I cross the northern reaches of the Appalachian Mountains and enter my seventh Canadian province, New Brunswick.
The majority of the rest of the journey features the Trans-Canada Highway hugging the banks of the Saint John River, which was the most scenic segment of the drive. Towns are numerous but larger cities are few and far between.
Along the way I made sure to have a few quick stops: Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, Québec, lunch in Saint Leonard (near the Maine/American border), checking out the longest covered bridge in the world in Hartland, New Brunswick, a quick tour of the capital city of Fredericton, and getting lost in a few suburbs along the way, en route to my final destination of Moncton.
It was a gorgeous day for a gorgeous drive!
As you can see on the map, the drive was very much a zig-zag between Québec City and Moncton - the U.S. state of Maine really gets in the way...but that doesn't excuse New Brunswick from ignoring the Pythagorean theorem when constructing the Trans-Canada Highway.
Sure, most of the population lives along the banks of the Saint John River, but A-squared plus B-squared equals C-squared. Today was a LONG day...I could've gone for some of that C-squared action.
The journey continues tomorrow in Moncton!
