Fredericton, New Brunswick – Atlantic Canada’s Riverfront Capital
Nestled along the magnificent Saint John River sits Fredericton, New Brunswick’s capital city. Visitors can enjoy the diverse tastes of a big city while reveling in the friendly welcome of a small town.
What better way to explore this riverside hub than a gastronomic tour? Fredericton’s many restaurants serve everything from local seafood to farm-fresh vegetables. Pick up your own goodies, straight from the farmer, at the Boyce Farmers Market, one of Canada’s best.
But the meal isn’t complete without something to wash it down. With nearly a dozen craft breweries, newcomers will raise a glass (or two!) to the overflowing selection of beer, cider, and mead on tap.
History comes alive in Fredericton. Watch the Changing of the Guard in the Historic Garrison District, or stroll down the tree-lined streets flush with turn of the Century Victorian homes. History buffs can’t miss Kings Landing Historical Settlement, transporting guests back to 19th century New Brunswick.
Our vibrant culture is on display at top-notch art galleries, including the world-renowned Beaverbrook Art Gallery. For a night out with friends and family, why not catch a free concert or movie under the stars? And to top it all off, Fredericton is home to the best International festival on the East Coast: the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival.
Any outdoor enthusiast will be busy with our 88km of trails, just waiting to be explored on foot or by bike. Take a boat tour on the majestic Saint John River, wander the old growth forest in Odell Park, or stop to smell the roses in the Botanic Garden. Or to truly relax, lounge on the beach at Mactaquac Provincial Park.

St Andrews By The Sea: From Ghosts To Golf, Canada's First Resort Enchants Travelers
Canada’s first ever resort, the Algonquin Resort was built in 1889 as a destination location on the coastline for travelers to come for the fresh sea air. A stunning Tudor style castle overlooking the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick, it is easily one of the most recognizable buildings at St Andrews By the Sea. Today it is still a fabulous place to come and just relax, whether by the indoor or outdoor swimming pools, or just staring out into the moody blue of the sea. There are also a few dining options on the property and an 18-hole seaside golf course that just underwent a renovation and features breathtaking bay views from many of the holes. As many hotels with more than a century and a quarter of history do, the Algonquin is allegedly haunted by more than one ghost, and the staff is happy to tell guests all the gory details. Off property, St. Andrews by the Sea is a charming coastal town with more than a few worthwhile attractions.
