Groß-Umstadt is a town in the district of Darmstadt-Dieburg in the Bundesland of Hessen in Germany. It is near Darmstadt and Frankfurt on the northern border of the Odenwald and is on the south-eastern edge of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Region. The population is about 21,000 residents. About half of these live in Umstadt itself and the remainder in eight other districts which were combined with Umstadt in the state of Hessen government reforms in the 1970s: Dorndiel Heubach Kleestadt Klein-Umstadt Raibach Richen Semd WiebelsbachThe last of these includes Frau-Nauses.

1. Marksburg Castle Braubach
The Marksburg is a castle above the town of Braubach in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is one of the principal sites of the Rhine Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fortress was used for protection rather than as a residence for royal families. It has a striking example of a bergfried designed as a butter-churn tower. Of the 40 hill castles between Bingen am Rhein and Koblenz the Marksburg was the only one which was never destroyed.

If you are bored by the impressive high rise and shopping in Frankfurt, you *must* take the s-bhan for 20 minutes to visit the amazing little town call Mainz. Visit it early in the morning to see the open market in full action. I went there during Friday morning and had the tastiest meatloaf burger from the stall. Just the most memorable part of my Frankfurt trip.
