Königstein im Taunus is a health spa and lies on the thickly wooded slopes of the Taunus in Hesse, Germany. The town is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. Owing to its advantageous location for both scenery and transport on the edge of the Frankfurt Rhine Main Region, Königstein is a favourite residential town. Neighbouring places are Kronberg im Taunus, Glashütten, Schwalbach am Taunus, Bad Soden am Taunus and Kelkheim.

The Speyer Cathedral, officially the Imperial Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and St Stephen, in Latin: Domus sanctae Mariae Spirae in Speyer, Germany, is the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Speyer and is suffragan to the Archdiocese of Bamberg. The cathedral, which is dedicated to St. Mary, patron saint of Speyer and St. Stephen is generally known as Kaiserdom zu Speyer . Pope Pius XI raised Speyer Cathedral to the rank of a minor basilica of the Roman Catholic Church in 1925. Begun in 1030 under Konrad II, with the east end and high vault of 1090–1103, the imposing triple-aisled vaulted basilica of red sandstone is the culmination of a design which was extremely influential in the subsequent development of Romanesque architecture during the 11th and 12th centuries. Hattersheim am Main - Sehenswürdigkeiten

Wir beginnen unseren Rundgang durch Hattersheim (Main-Taunus-Kreis - Hessen) am Bahnhof. Danach schauen wir uns u.a. die katholische Kirche St. Martinus, den Marktplatz mit Bachlauf, den Alten Posthof und den Nassauer Hof an. An der evangelischen Matthaeuskirche im Stadtteil Okriftel endet unser Besuch in Hattersheim.

Der Traum vom Fliegen ist wahr geworden - wir sehen die Burg wie der Turmfalke, der hier haust.

Naturpark Taunus - Cold to Sun

The Naturpark Taunus is the second largest natural park in Hessen. The Taunus is known as Frankfurt's Greenbelt and popular for its fantastic mountain range with a beautiful fauna. The Großer Feldberg is the tallest peak in the whole mountain range (878 m). Other notable peaks are the Kleiner Feldberg (825 m) and the Altkönig (798 m). The combination of tourism and nature conservancy attracts 18 million visitors a year to discover the unique wildlife in the middle of Germany.
We just want to share some impressions we had during our hikes between cold March and green May this spring.
