10 Things to do in Madrid, Spain Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Greetings from Madrid, Spain. Hello hello. And this is a city we visited 2.5 years ago in the summer. We're back with my parents this time and we're going to be here for just a few days making a little travel guide and we hope you guys will join along. This one is going to be a little bit different because last time we were in Madrid we ran around like crazy. We're going to take it easy focus on the highlights. Focus on food. Delicious Spanish food. We hope you guys will enjoy our little tour of Madrid.
The armoury turned out to be a real highlight with weapons and armour dating back from the 16th and 17th centuries.
We caught a glimpse at the Almudena Cathedral and continued towards the Sabatini Gardens, which are located directly behind the palace.
After lunch, we visited the Temple of Debod. This is ancient Egyptian temple that was given to Spain as a sign of gratitude for their help in saving the Abu Simbel temples. It dates back to the 2nd century BC and it’s one of the few works of ancient Egyptian architecture that can be seen outside of Egypt.
Plaza Mayor is the main square in Madrid. It is lined with shops and cafes under its porticoes. It was just a skip over to one of the most popular food markets with visitors.
Buen Retiro is a large park located at the edge of the city centre. It belonged to the Spanish Monarchy until the late 19th century, when it became a public park, and it’s home to various gardens, sculptures, monuments and small palaces
One of the most iconic buildings found within the park is the Crystal Palace, made of glass and iron, which is used for art exhibits throughout the year.
This cafe will make you feel like you’ve been transported back to the late nineteenth century. The walls are covered in mirrors and wood panelling, the tables are of white marble, the chairs and banquettes are deep green in colour.
Last but not least, we finished off our visit with an evening stroll through Madrid, and that pretty much wraps our trip! The city clearly has much more to offer than we were able to cover in just 3 days, but we hope this Madrid travel guide gave you a few ideas of what you can do with a short break in the city. Wishing you happy travels and we’ll see you in the next video as we continue our travels through Spain!

The most efficient day - hiking through beautiful beaches | Camino del Norte from Noja to Loredo
On the Day 12 of our Camino de Santiago del Norte we hiked from the village Noja to the town Loredo in Cantabria.
We woke up in the city of Noja in the very nice camping Playa Joyel that we were very happy about. So as we promised yesterday we had a big plan for today to do 20 + kms and to follow the Camino because we wanted to compensate a bit the last day when we did less than normal. All the first part of the day we were walking on the asphalt and car roads so we were able to do more kms that way without getting too exhausted having said that it was way less interesting and exciting with practically the same landscape of the green hills and villages and spreaded farm houses. So we did it very quick but it wasn't very exciting. So that way we got to Galizano at the coast at 14 pm and that was already very close to our final destination so it was our personal record coming the earliest to the place when doing so many kms a day. And this last several kms were the best of the day...

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

Santander -- Live from Sardinero Beach
: Helen Page talks about Burgos and Santander from Sardinero Beach esplanade. Santander, on the north coast of Spain, is famous for its vast stretches of beaches. When a summer palace was built here for King Alfonso XIII in 1912, it sealed the town's reputation as a popular summer retreat:
Well, we left Madrid this morning and after a couple of hours drive we arrived at Burgos, which is famous for its cathedral - it's an amazing cathedral. There's lots of little chapels with beautiful artwork and sculptures and that's where El Cid's grave is. There's a lot to see there. We had a couple of hours and we had to practically rush through the place. It's a beautiful place - it's an absolutely must-visit place. We had lunch in Burgos and then it was a couple of hours drive up to Santander. Oh, another thing, Burgos is on the pilgrimage route, so pilgrims on the Santiago de Compostella route stop in Burgos.
So now here we are in Santander on the north coast of Spain. This region is Cantabria, famous for its beaches. There's lots of stretches of beach and this particular stretch is called Sardinero. Beautiful weather, lots of sunshine.
Actually, there's not a lot of monuments to see here and the main attraction is the casino. It must be doing well as there's a new hotel being built next to it. The beaches are quite crowded, lots of local people. But, it's a bit windy and chilly up here on the Esplanade, so I'm going to walk down there now and see what's happening on the beach. See you later!
