1. Ehrenbreitstein Fortress Koblenz
Ehrenbreitstein Fortress is a fortress in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, on the east bank of the Rhine where it is joined by the Moselle, overlooking the town of Koblenz. Occupying the position of an earlier fortress destroyed by the French in 1801, it was built as the backbone of the regional fortification system, Festung Koblenz, by Prussia between 1817 and 1828 and guarded the middle Rhine region, an area that had been invaded by French troops repeatedly before. The Prussian fortress was never attacked. Since 2002, Ehrenbreitstein has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley.

Naturpark Taunus - Cold to Sun

The Naturpark Taunus is the second largest natural park in Hessen. The Taunus is known as Frankfurt's Greenbelt and popular for its fantastic mountain range with a beautiful fauna. The Großer Feldberg is the tallest peak in the whole mountain range (878 m). Other notable peaks are the Kleiner Feldberg (825 m) and the Altkönig (798 m). The combination of tourism and nature conservancy attracts 18 million visitors a year to discover the unique wildlife in the middle of Germany.
We just want to share some impressions we had during our hikes between cold March and green May this spring.
