San Vittore del Lazio is a comune in the Province of Frosinone in the Italian region Lazio, located about 130 kilometres southeast of Rome and about 50 kilometres southeast of Frosinone. The castle of San Vittore has belonged to the Mancini family from the 15th century to the present. San Vittore del Lazio borders the following municipalities: Cassino, Cervaro, Conca Casale, Mignano Monte Lungo, Rocca d'Evandro, San Pietro Infine, Venafro, Viticuso.

Rocca Calascio is a mountaintop fortress or rocca in the Province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo, Italy. At an elevation of 1,460 metres , Rocca Calascio is the highest fortress in the Apennines. Built of stone and masonry exclusively for military purposes and intended only to accommodate troops and never as residence for nobles, the fortress overlooks the Plain of Navelli at one of the highest points in the ancient Barony of Carapelle. Construction of the fortress started in the tenth century as a single watchtower. A walled courtyard with four cylindrical towers at the corners around a taller inner tower was added in the thirteenth century. Leaving the Province of Rome, I enter the Province of Viterbo and as can be seen it is now country roads in hilly countryside! This is still Lazio, the region which includes Rome, but at the end of the film I move into Umbria.
