The Niso Fumagalli rose garden in Monza , in Italian : Roseto Niso Fumagalli di Monza is a rose garden that can be found in the gardens of the Villa Reale in Monza. María Teresa I of Austria decided to build the Villa Arciducale when she decided to assign her son Fernando de Habsburgo-Este the carica di Governor General of the Austrian Lombardy. María Teresa chose Monza for the healthiness of the air and the amenity of the people , however she also wanted to maintain a strong symbol of union between Vienna and Milan , since the site on which they would build the town was on the route between the Lombard capital and the capital of the Empire.

Between 1806 and 1808 , he wanted to expand the architectural complex, which was formed by the villa and the garden , and made the park , closed and with an area of ​​750 hectares, used as a hunting ground.

After the fall of Napoleon ( 1815 ), the Austrians returned, and became until the second war of independence ( 1859 ), when the Royal Villa became the heritage of the House of Savoy . King Humberto I loved the Villa very much and he liked to live there and for that reason he wanted the architects Achille Majnoni d'Intignano and Luigi Tarantola to transform many spaces. In 1900 King Humberto I was assassinated in Monza by Gaetano Bresci while witnessing a sporting event; then his son, King Victor Emmanuel III did not want to live anymore in the town of the city in which they killed his father, and so he closed and moved much of the furniture to Quirinale .

In 1934 , with royal decree, Victor Manuel III donated the town to the municipalities of Monza and Milan. In the years after the Second World War , the town was occupied and plundered and fell into decline. After a period of decline, they have recently started working to restore the village. Nowadays the Villa Real is managed by the municipalities of Monza and Milan. The building, used as a greenhouse for the garden of the villa, called Orangerie in the original project of Giuseppe Piermarini, is nowadays called il il Serrone (Large greenhouse, in Italian) and was built in 1790 .

I drive my vehicle through the Italian province Campania, north using the A3 motorway, between the towns of Sala Consilinia and Eboli which are both in the district of Salerno. The motorway more or less follows the path of the River Tanagro which rises in the Diano Valley and is a tributary of the Sele River.

I start off by leaving the motorway facilities at Sala Consilina and describe the facilities there for dumping the waste tank which were a little primative but far better than nothing - and we need to be grateful for that.

I also had an outstanding breakfast which I describe thanks to wonderful coffee from my friend Raffaelo in Augusta, milk products from Castrovillari with olives and bread from the hypermarket in Lauria. There would have been other things as well but I did not describe them.

You can hear the Tomtom satellite navigation device in the camper version which is extremely good in my opinion.

The A3 motorway has sometimes been called the shame of Italy because of the time it has taken to complete it but it is an engineering marvel as can be seen.

On my drive south in December 2012 I was not very impressed but the weather was bad. In much nicer driving weather I find the going much more pleasant.

As well as the scenery, there is my comments on using a camper van in Italy and some of the places you can visit.

This is part of a very long journey in May and June 2013 from Brucoli in Sicily to Bełżec on the Polish - Ukrainian border. From there I travelled to the UK - so the journey was much longer but I did not film the part from eastern Poland to Norwich (UK).

Festa degli statuti di Fossato di Vico 2016, presentazione [UMBRIA NEWS]

‘Lasciati andare sei nella storia’. È il richiamo e l’invito della Festa degli statuti di Fossato di Vico in programma per la 21esima edizione dal 6 all’8 maggio. L’evento, dalla forte valenza storica e rievocativa, ripropone il periodo medievale rifacendosi agli statuti comunali del 13 maggio 1386 che hanno regolamentato per circa 500 anni la vita degli abitanti.
