Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, Saint Mary's School operates as an independent school with a historic association with the Episcopal Church including an Episcopal chapel, St. Mary's Chapel, on the school's grounds. The school formerly operated as Saint Mary's College and for many decades educated young women in grades 11-12 and their freshman and sophomore years in college. It is on the Blue Ridge Parkway between mileposts 292 and 295 with access at Milepost 294. Most locals call it Cone Park. The park is run by the National Park Service and is open to the public. It contains 3,500 acres , a 16-acre trout lake, a 22-acre bass lake, and 25 miles of carriage trails for hiking and horses. The main feature of the park is a twenty-three room 13,000-square-foot mansion called Flat Top Manor built about 1900.
