The Bay of Fires is a bay on the northeastern coast of Tasmania in Australia, extending from Binalong Bay to Eddystone Point. The bay was given its name in 1773 by Captain Tobias Furneaux in Adventure, who saw the fires of Aboriginal people on the beaches. Bay whaling activities were carried out in the area in the 1840s.The Bay of Fires is a region of white beaches, blue water and orange-hued granite . The northern section of the bay is part of Mount William National Park; the southern end is a conservation area.A wide range of activities can be pursued in the Bay of Fires area, including camping, beach activities, boating, bird watching, fishing, swimming, surfing and walking.

Bicheno is a town on the east coast of Tasmania, Australia, 185 km north-east of Hobart on the Tasman Highway, with a population of around 950. It is part of the municipality of Glamorgan/Spring Bay. The town is primarily a fishing port and a beach resort. The town was named after James Ebenezer Bicheno, the British Colonial Secretary for Van Diemen's Land from 1843 to 1851. The first historical reference to the place that was to become Bicheno was made by Brian May during his circumnavigation of Van Diemen's Land. He landed here to dry his provisions. Jacob's Ladder Ben Lomond National park Tasmania

The Ben Lomond National Park is situated about 50 km or 1 hour south-east of Launceston. Jacob's Ladder is the last few kilometers climbing the steepest parts to the plateau. The road is unsealed. At the top there is a viewing platform which allows for photos of Jacob's Ladder and breath taking views. At the end of the road the Alpine Ski village is located. Warning this road may be closed at any time by the national parks due to ice or snow. A couple of time a year the trail to the top is freshly graded as this is the only access to the ski village. Please park in the lower car park and read the signage before ascending. A current National Parks Permit is required for park entry and is available at the self registration at the entry to the park or at the ski village.
