The Kinzua Bridge or the Kinzua Viaduct was a railroad trestle that spanned Kinzua Creek in McKean County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The bridge was 301 feet tall and 2,052 feet long. Most of its structure collapsed during a tornado in 2003. The bridge was originally built from wrought iron in 1882 and was billed as the Eighth Wonder of the World, holding the record as the tallest railroad bridge in the world for two years. In 1900, the bridge was dismantled and simultaneously rebuilt out of steel to allow it to accommodate heavier trains. Inaugural Tour De Clarion January23 2016 Hike from Parker to Emlenton, PA on the North Country Trail

This is the first hike of 12 monthly hikes organized by the Clarion Chapter of the North Country Trail Association in 2016 to cover the entire 93 miles of the North Country Trail in Venango and Clarion Counties in Pennsylvania, USA. The first hike was attended by a record number of participants (nearly 200 ? or more). Hikers arrived between 9:30AM and 10:30AM and hiked along the Allegheny River Trail (Rail Trail/ Bicycle Trail) from Parker, PA (Trail Town) to Emlenton, PA (6 miles to the North). Hikers passed through the town of Foxburg, PA mid-way, and later under Interstate 80 (big bridge several hundered feet in the air). There were some refreshments in Emlenton provided by volunteers, and then it was just a short way to go where North Country Trail Vehicles shuttled hikers back to Parker. This event was incredible, and no one could have expected this amazing turn out. I have been hiking with the Clarion Group of the North Country Trail Association since 2010, and most hikes have had 15-30 participants (sometimes fewer). The end point of this hike will be the start of the February hike as we continue East on our journey across the Clarion and Venango County Sections of the North Country Trail.

Kahle Lake Ice Fishing - Western Pa Hardwater Series Tournament 2019

Ice Fishing 2019 Pennsylvania. Follow John and Cody as they fish the Western Pennsylvania Hardwater Tournament Series at Kahle Lake in western pa. The guys were unable to get much footage of fishing due to weather conditions. The guys struggled in this tournament compared to taking 6th place last season. One Minute Below Freedom Falls

In the woods near Pittsville, PA a short walk from the dirt road that leads to town there is a serene gift of nature that has been enjoyed by locals for generations called Freedom Falls. My first trip to this small waterfall on a babbling, meandering creek occurred near the end of my high school years and was almost certainly made for illicit purposes. By night Freedom Falls remains a favorite albeit relatively lightly trafficked party spot. By day it attracts hikers, sportsmen and other generally outdoorsy folks.

Despite its local notoriety and unrestricted access Freedom Falls remains impressively unmolested. You will inevitably encounter the odd discarded plastic bottle, aluminum can or other detritus of disposable consumption here, but this site seems to command a certain respect from its visitors which compels most of them to leave it as they found it.

I recorded this short, simple video (and its companion) for my pleasure. I'm posting it here so that former Venango County, PA residents which have removed to distant locales can virtually visit one of our most special places. In addition, those of you that have never been to North Western Pennsylvania and experienced the natural beauty of our lush hardwood forests can see one of the reasons that many people here take pride in and feel a deep connection to our home.
