Situated on 900 acres of old growth native bushland, it is home to the state's largest collection of native and exotic animals. Exhibits include Tasmanian devils, wombats, quolls, emus, koalas, kangaroos, deer, reptiles and monkeys, along with a collection of 80 bird species. Conservation work carried out by the zoo includes a breeding program for Tasmanian devils.
