The municipality of Amstelveen consists of the historical villages of Bovenkerk and Nes aan de Amstel; in addition, the following neighbourhoods have been recently built, as was Downtown Amstelveen : Westwijk, Bankras-Kostverloren, Groenelaan, Waardhuizen, Middenhoven, Randwijk, Elsrijk and Keizer Karelpark.   • 3. Jac P Thijssepark Amstelveen
    Jacobus Pieter “Jac P.” Thijsse was a Dutch conservationist and botanist. He is sometimes referred to as J.P. Thijssse. He founded Vereniging tot Behoud van Natuurmonumenten in Nederland . In 1925, on the occasion of his 60th birthday he was honored by his friends with the gift of Thijsse's Hof , a wildlife garden in Bloemendaal near Haarlem. This was the first wildlife garden in the Netherlands, and one of the oldest worldwide. The Jac. P. Thijssepark in Amstelveen, another wildlife garden, was named after him. He was placed 87th on De Grootste Nederlander list in 2004.

    Keukenhof , also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in Lisse, South Holland, Netherlands. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares .Keukenhof is located in South Holland, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the Dune and Bulb Region . Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.
