Travel France - Visiting Château de Chambord
Take a tour of Chambord Castle in Chambord -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats.
Hi, I am Naomi and I am very excited to show you the world's greatest attractions.
A first look at the Chambord Castle roof line might mistake it for a small city.
This dreamlike château was built by François I as a hunting lodge.
However, this hunting lodge is a rival to any structure in France for beauty and splendor.
The elaborate architecture brings together the best of French and Italian renaissance design.
Chambord Castle is also rich in history; generations of French monarchy and nobility lived in its walls.
The castle's centerpiece is a spectacular double-helix spiral staircase that rises to the top floor.
This unique staircase is said to have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci.
The château also has a 13,000 acre game reserve, making the entire experience beautifully serene.

The abbey, the home of many relics, is also a common destination for pilgrims.
