How to buy a property in south west France with Allez Francais - video
If you want to know more about how to buy a property in south west France please also visit - not only to view a range of well illustrated properties - but also for lots of advice and tips too.
Established in 2002, we take time to understand what you are looking for and can offer you the best selection of properties in south west France - your search starts and ends here. We have all styles of properties from mills, Maisons Bourgeoises, Logis, Fermettes / Farmhouses to Châteaux and houses on golf resorts. Visit our website and contact us now. We will help you find your dream home.
Video transcipt: You know where the climate is sunnier, the pace relaxed, the roads uncrowded, the air fresh, the landscape unspoiled, the markets mouth-watering; where every turning leads into history; where morning brings the smell of fresh coffee and baking, and evening the lights and laughter of outdoor cafes.
But let’s not dwell on the dream; let’s make it simple to dwell in the glorious countryside of South West France.
Perhaps for holidays, perhaps to live in and generate income, perhaps for retirement. No one is better able to deliver that dream home with greater ease, affordability and personal attention than Allez Francais.
Our unique French property agency was set up in 2002 to save buyers the frustrations and wasted time our founders Peter and Bridget Elias suffered taking the conventional estate agent route to own their home.
You don’t have to wade through portfolios in a French office. Our internet shop window displays numerous choices: cottages, farmhouses, townhouses, manors, chateaux, apartments and properties at golf resorts - most ready to move into.
Click on any property to open up a complete photo gallery with floor plan and realistic, readable description.
You can refine your search according to the area that attracts you most – Dordogne, Poitou Charentes or Gascony - each with its distinctive character, cuisine and culture - and each with its own 'Allez Francais' expert.
We each know our territory having all lived here, on average, for over ten years.
We won’t ever try and sell you a property. Instead, we get to know you, your wishes and your budget and help you draw up a shortlist of properties tailored to your needs.
There’s always an airport handy: Limoges, Brive, Bergerac, Bordeaux, Poitiers, La Rochelle, Rodez, Toulouse.
Or the TGV can connect key centres to Paris or Charles de Gaulle.
Now for your viewing day – when the Allez Francais personal approach really makes a difference. First of all, we’ll meet you, not at an estate agent’s office but convenient to your point of arrival.
We ideally like to spend a whole day - or preferably two – with you introducing you to four or five properties and their vendors.
You won’t be rushed and you won’t be pressured. We’ll answer as many of your questions as we can – using our local knowledge.
When you fall for a property, we’ll piece all the essential bits together to painlessly progress the sale, making use of the connections we have built up – our selected business partners.
This includes financial matters such as obtaining preferential or near market currency rates, arranging mortgages and/or insurance, and any advice needed from architects or surveyors.
Critically we’ll liaise with a notaire (solicitor) - preferably English speaking – to tie up all the legalities to smoothly complete the sale.
You do the dreaming;
we’ll do the delivery. Allez Francais.

This stylish, fully renovated maison de maitre, built in about 1835 and sited on a quiet rural road in this most beautiful part of the Dordogne, has 4 spacious bedrooms, oil-fired central heating, scope to expand, gardens of half an acre with views and a lovely in-ground pool.
This gorgeous stone-built house, which has been rewired, combines the charm of terracotta and wooden floors, stone fireplaces and beamed ceilings with a spanking new kitchen, bathrooms, central heating and oak-framed double-glazing. The marriage has been a successful one and makes for comfortable living in a lovely, old house. It would make an ideal B & B establishment, a lack of which exists in the local area. The house enjoys lovely countryside views.
The ground floor, terracotta-tiled throughout, consists of a long entrance hall, a fully fitted kitchen/diner with cream shaker-style fitted units with oak work surfaces and included in the sale are the dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and cooker. There is enough space for a table to seat 10. The separate sitting room has exposed beams and a lovely stone fireplace with multi-fuel burner.
Upstairs, all the floors are of chestnut. The master bedroom has a newly-fitted en suite shower room and French windows open on to a large, tiled terrace. There are a further 3 bedrooms - 2 large doubles with fireplaces and a large single. The family bathroom has a bath, integrated shower and screen and wash hand basin. There is a separate WC. Above all of these rooms is a cavernous attic space with window openings.
Outside, the garage houses the oil-fired boiler which provides both hot water and central heating. Planning permission has been granted for the conversion of the garage to self-contained living accommodation, either a studio or 1-bed flat. There is also a large wood shed which houses the oil tank. The garden measures approximately 2000m2 (about half an acre) and is easy to maintain. There is a 10m x 5m Desjoyaux pool which is in-ground and has a stone terrace surround. It is linked to the house by a wooden decked area.
The little village of Tremolat, just a few minutes' drive away, is on the River Dordogne, on a large sweeping bend of the river. It is this view over the 'Cingle de Tremolat' that attracts visitors, rather than the village itself (although it is very pleasant and has a good array of restaurants and shops for everyday needs). There are viewpoints to admire the scenery - above all the views from the Belvedere de Tremolat are magnificent. The view stretches about 180 degrees across an enormous bend in the Dordogne, with hills to the outside of the river and flat, agricultural land inside the loop. There is also a 'plan d'eau' (a place where you can take a dip in the water to cool down).
The house is about 25kms from Bergerac which has an international airport with budget flight connections to the UK.

The Living room is warm and inviting with a lovely wooden floor, some magnificent walnut cupboards and open fireplace.
