Kila Raipur Sports Festival, popularly known as the Rural Olympics, is held annually in Kila Raipur (near Ludhiana), in Punjab, India.
Competition is held for major Punjabi rural sports, include cart-race, rope pulling.
In February each year, Ludhiana becomes the destination for hundreds of sports enthusiasts, including foreigners. They come to Kila Raipur to see the special breed of bullocks, camels, dogs, mules and other animals competing in competitive events. The most prestigious winners have attended. In the year of the Olympics 2008, Hakam and Naib Singh Dhaliwal from village Kalsian, Punjab took the 1st place prize. They also won first in Gujjaral and Phalewal. They are known in Punjab as the men who hold the greatest passion in the sport.

Doomed Oxford Greyhound Track and Stadium or Reprieved?
Stop-News A High Court judge has started hearing arguments in a bid to decide whether Oxford Stadium should remain a conservation area today 8th of December. The Greyhound Racing Association (GRA) are attempting to get ban on development reversed.
Doomed Oxford Greyhound Stadium is threatened with demolition and reuse for housing. Although the track itself is un-cared for the Stadium facilities are obviously quite modern with major redevelopment up until the year 2000 by the Greyhound Racing Association (GRA). However in 2005 the GRA was bought out and the ground was sold to Galliardhomes. The last race meeting was held in December 2012. The council & local residents are however anxious that the site be retained for leisure. The stadium is currently intact and is used by various businesses and for Kart Racing. Oxford Cheetahs Speedway team raced here until 2008.
Stop News: Oxford greyhound stadium has been listed as a conservation area.
I hope it remains open. Andrew Smith MP for East Oxford is campaigning to keep the stadium open.
