    Little Manitou Lake is a small saltwater lake about 120 kilometres south-east of Saskatoon, Canada. The lake was formed by receding glaciers during the most recent ice age. It is fed by underground springs, and has a mineral content high in sodium, magnesium and potassium salts due to it being a terminal lake. The salt content of the water gives it a salinity about half of that of the Dead Sea , allowing bathers to float easily, and makes fish very easy to catch.

The homestead's fieldstone house, called Lanark Place after Motherwell's previous Ontario home, is modelled after similar farmsteads built in Ontario. The homestead is surrounded by a shelter belt. The casino is attached to the Dakota Dunes Golf Links 18 hole Golf Course. In 2010, the casino released plans for a $25 Million Canadian expansion to add a spa, expanded convention facilities and a 161-room hotel. It was announced that construction was expected to start in the spring of 2011.
