The museum has branches in Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Saskatoon and Yorkton. Respectively, each branch focuses on a different theme: transportation, agriculture, economy, and people. The museum is affiliated with the Canadian Museums Association, the Canadian Heritage Information Network, and Virtual Museum of Canada.

The Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum has many displays of life on the Prairies including many historic buildings that have been moved from surrounding communities, set up to mimic that of a small Farming Town from the early 1900s to 1930s. The park is located south of the City of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Highway 2. The car club at Moose Jaw agreed to the restoration of Tom Sukanen's ship at their museum site. Tom Sukanen was a Finnish homesteader who settled near Birsay who hoped to travel home again on his ship he assembled near the South Saskatchewan River. The Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum features a typical village replete with pioneer artifacts and tractors, cars and trucks, even a McCabe's Grain Co. grain elevator built in 1913 standing approximately 68 feet tall. ...

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park is a Saskatchewan Provincial Park located in southern Saskatchewan about 30 km northeast of the city of Moose Jaw and 86 km northwest of the city of Regina.The park centres on Buffalo Pound Lake, a prairie lake formed from glaciation about 10,000 years ago. Seasonal recreation activities include swimming , camping, fishing, mini-golf, biking, hiking, and access to the Trans-Canada Trail. The park also features a captive herd of bison, along with the Nicolle Flats Marsh where a variety of wildlife can be observed. There is also a trout pond, known as Buffalo Pond, which is stocked with rainbow, brown and tiger trout. Highways 202 and 301 intersect near the park.

Welcome to Saskatchewan!

Often known as an incredibly flat province, nothing could be further from the truth. With lush boreal forests and pristine lakes in the North to prairie landscapes and badlands in the South, Saskatchewan is the perfect place for outdoor lovers to explore.

We drove a pontoon boat around Lake Waskesiu, learned about the province's first nations at Wanuskewin Heritage Centre, and went for a float in Canada's version of the dead sea. We also toured the RCMP Heritage Centre, witnessed the RCMP sunset ceremony, climbed a massive sand dune, and hiked through one of the few remaining natural grasslands in North America. We packed a lot of adventures into our short visit and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further.

We explored Saskatchewan from July 27th - August 8th, 2017!
