Welcome to Ontario!
Ontario is one of the biggest provinces in Canada and is home to some amazing cities, attractions, and nature ranging from the massive cosmopolitan city of Toronto to the scenic landscapes of Algonquin Provincial Park. From kayaking next to loons to experiencing Canada Day on Parliament Hill, we had such an incredible time in Ontario.
We took a helicopter over Niagara Falls, interviewed refugees in downtown Toronto, experienced the world's largest escape room just outside of Ottawa, and sampled award-winning wines near Niagara-on-the-Lake. We really packed a lot of adventures into our two short weeks in the province and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further.
We explored Ontario from June 28 - July 14, 2017.
Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

Expedia.ca challenged Going Awesome Places with how I'd do Calgary, Alberta if I flew in from Toronto and only had 4 days to explore the city and surrounding areas such as Canmore and Banff.
Here's are the highlights of some of the crazy activities we did for a jam-packed and fun long weekend in Calgary.
Encounter the Unexpected - City of Cold Lake Tourism Video
We produced, shot and edited this video for the City of Cold Lake Alberta. The client's goal was to show Cold Lake as a four season playground in Alberta Canada. With multiple days of production in the summer and winter, we captured all the essential footage to really show what Cold Lake is all about.

Lake Louise - Survival Guide (Canada)
Most beautiful place in Canada is hands down Lake Louise in Alberta with its azure blue waters and giant glaciers. I went for a 11 hours hike through rough terrain, snow, ice and steep climbs covering 17.3 kilometers.
My Survival Guide can be found on my blog:
I was lucky not running into any flesh hungry bears during my solo hike on the way back down. It was a huge mistake not bringing bear spray.
You need a lot of stamina if you want to include the Abbot Pass Viewpoint, the Beehive and Lake Agnus in a one-day hike but trust me, it will be worth every drop of sweat!
Together with my friends from Holland we spent an entire day at this mesmerizing place, and fortunately it being one of the best days of the year. Early June is highly recommended!
To confess; there was a moment when I thought of quitting but luckily was rescued and motivated by an experienced group of hikers.
My advice; do not swim in Lake Louise, the water is 5 degrees Celsius which could cause hypothermia in minutes.
10 Things To See And Do In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
On the day we arrived in Edmonton, the temperature was -30C! Edmonton was easily the coldest place we'd visited at that point though it has to be said, their summers are also pretty warm - effectively Edmonton does seasons right...but I digress. Even in the cold of winter, there's still so much fun to be in this fun Canadian city and here are some things to get up to in Edmonton in winter.
