The park is located around McLeod Lake and Little McLeod Lake , approximately 23 km north of Whitecourt. It is accessed by Highway 32.The park protects the boreal forest ecosystem with aspen, balsam poplar, balsam fir and white spruce, as well as the willow/alder shorelines, black spruce bogs, grass marshes, and fens. The park is also a fishing spot and a habitat for diverse mammals and birds.

William A. Switzer Provincial Park is a provincial park in Alberta, Canada. It is located on both sides of the Bighorn Highway, between Grande Cache and Hinton. Various campgrounds are maintained on the shores of Gregg Lake, Cache Lake, Blue Lake and Jarvis Lake. The park is situated in the Canadian Rockies foothills, at an elevation of 1,150 m to 1,300 m and has a surface of 93 km2 . It was established on December 22, 1958 and is maintained by Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation. The park is named after former provincial Member of the Legislative Assembly William Switzer.

We spent 2 late afternoons viewing and filming the Beavers and the occasional Muskrat at the Beaver Boardwalk.
This boardwalk winds thru a large Beaver Pond in the city of Hinton, Alberta, Canada.
It is one of the most unique areas for viewing wildlife we have ever visited.
What a treasure Hinton has here, offering people the opportunity to observe Beavers at work and play.
If you ever past thru Hinton, be sure to visit this place.
